Looking for plot hooks in Worlport on Ord Mantell (Space Las Vegas)

By kingpin000, in Game Masters

Hi there,

my group will arrive Worlport on Ord Mantell (after they crash landed in the wildness of Ord Mantell and found a way back with a litte help of a Hutt and his sail barge). The game is set during time shortly after Ep. 1 and they met Count Dooku on the sail barge but only for a brief conversation before he left (because he was too busy to plan an evil conspiracy ;D )

The city seems be a rip off from Las Vegas (a lot of casinos and brothels).

The group contains: human smuggler (scondrel/charmer), droid BH (survialist), besalisk BH (martial artist) and togruta sentinal* (shadow).

What are some good plot hooks for this place?

There is a fighting tournament sponsored by one of the casinos. It's an excellent chance for fighting, betting and rigging fights. That and working up the crowd and maybe start a riot or two on a despair, or a triumph if that's your goal. Other than that there's the people who campaign for Savrips gaining the status of sentient creatures. As well as the people who campaign against that and try to sell Savrip leather, Savrip meat and Savrip hunting safari tickets. The bounty hunter guild has one of their main offices on Ord Mantell, so it's an excellent place to pick up fresh new bounties. The scrapland wastes also holds tons of potential for adventure, it's a freaking continent sized garbage dump where ships and all sorts of junk has been dumped for millenia. You can find all sorts of crap out there, and the Jawa clans can point you in the right direction for a small fee.

Seriously, Worlport is filled with potential. Ord Mantell is a borderline lawless gambling paradise/hellhole depending on where you're at. You can use it for pretty much any sort of adventure you want.

In a recent and previous campaign a GM of ours used a couple of weird plot twists. Let's see if I can get this straight.

There was a group of Nemiodians who had set up a smuggling operation through one of the big casinos. The part that we got to see was the accumulation of Battle Droid components, a shipment of which had been stolen by a subcontractor.

Being that the group is comprised of 50% Bounty Hunters, you may want to throw a bunch of bounties for known unsavory types, involved in any number of mischief like, spice smuggling, Twi-lek slave trading, blackmail, extortion, etc. There may even be a pretty big fish with a lot of credits who doesn't WANT his bounty cashed in.
