Bomber... lets see if it lasts longer than it did in the film :P

Basically looking at a combination of either 1 Bomber and 2 T-70's or 2 Bombers and 1 T-70 (i think i prefer the former). Snap and Jess seem decent though the whole list is lacking in PS. Hoping to play on wariness of the long range bombs before the X-Wings can move out and meet something. Snap is surprisingly move-able with potential for a Boost/Roll and action without the need for PTL etc or even stress at all if i didn't bother with a Red move.

Open to ideas though.

Do not put spoilers in titles of topics.

I love that exact build for Snap with BB-8 and Primed. (auto thrusters optional). I think the Vet is way better than PTL BB-8 because not only does it open you up to Black One, but it doesn't force you to rely on using BB-8 and a green to secure multiple actions from PTL. You can BB-8 when you want, strip up to two target locks for free, and take what actions suit the situation. Should you choose to swap those two out you won't actually change your point cost at all. Just personal preference though. Solid list with everything else though (go Jess!)

Best,

Cow

Definitely the former. With Bomblet Generator being unique and the bomber's main armament being a deeply so-so 2-dice primary weapon, deploying one good bomber is easy but deploying two is much less so.

One other option for a bomber in a T-70 squad is fielding it as a support 'buddy' rather than a bomber per se:

  • Crimson Squadron Pilot
    • Crossfire Formation
    • Fire Control System
    • Targeting Synchroniser

The turret isn't amazing - it's essentially an automatic miss versus Autothruster Poe Dameron, Concord Dawn Protector Fenn Rau, Reinforce Lowwhrick and shooting at a TIE interceptor ace is a joke.

However, it can still reliably plink damage off agility 1 and 0 targets - Rear Admiral Chiraneau, Nym, Miranda Doni, and any Kimogilas that peek their nose over the parapet, plus the fact it's only a 2-dice attack makes it better than you'd expect against Quickdraw. Equally, the fact that it is a turret makes it impossible to arc dodge - so the reduced damage may balance out the number of times you'd actually get a shot where a cheap 3rd T-70 wouldn't.

More importantly, every time you fire, you get a free target lock that one of the T-70 escorts can use with their much more impressive primary weapons, and unlike a Systems Officer TIE shuttle, or a sheathipede, or whatever, this brute has the durability of a Decimator or Falcon (especially with Crossfire), so it's not going away any time soon - It'll tank three harpoon missiles and keep right on rolling as often as not.

I'm quite intrigued by the above suggestion by Magnus Grendel. I find that stunningly elegant.

However, if you are still inclined around your initial suggestion, I might suggest:

Crimson Specialist

Title

Deflective Plating

Bomblets

Collision Detector

Pattern Analyzer

Nien Numb

Snap Shot

R3-A2

Pattern Analyzer

IA

Jess Pava

M9-G8

IA

PA on the specialist guarantees you your focus for defense even if you pull a red. Sensor Cluster isn't super necessary with the title, as you're gonna want to cash in on that free focus result.

Jess does Jess things, locking Nien to give him rerolls, while Nien is a superb carrier for the stressbot. He can double stress a range 1 target and end up stress free, PA lets him focus even after a red, while Jess' rerolls apply on both his attacks.

I liked having 2 bombers with 1 ARC. That way you can still carry Sabine to give that extra damage.
