PTL/LRS on Gunboats?

Any luck with PTL/LRS boats?

Seems like a good idea. Set up TL 1st round, only focus for initial engagement so you can do 3 speeds next turn. Slam away like crazy and reload and TL all in one turn. Slam back in and focus next round.

I know the greens aren't great, but a 2s, then SLAM isn't too too bad.

Something like this (you could even drop the titles on them probably, except slamming and shooting missiles is cool).

Without advances SLAM you cant SLAM+TL+reload in one turn. Also a big problem wiith ptl on a gunboat is the poor number of greens on the dial.

I flew against a PTL/ASLAM/Harpoon Rho. It seemed OK. I don't know that it was better than a HLC version. Or cheaper versions which aren't loaded with upgrades.

I played a game flying Ion Pulse Missiles and they're wicked fun, but it didn't really work out. One might have worked, but not two.

Anyhow, I don't really like LRS and PTL together. One of the strengths of PTL is that you could do something like reload and TL in the same round. LRS prevents you from doing that at range 1.

I love PTL Rhoboats, but I am of the mind that they need Adv. SLAM, so that they can really capitalize on turning, reloading, shooting, as you please.
