Does the Steady ability mean they can move, shoot, move, shoot?

No, you can only make one attack action per turn, even if it's a free action. (Alex Davy mentioned it with regard to Vader's free attack ability.)

Your still limited to one attack action per turn

Hopefully rebels get Hoth Leia, and cold troopers (with a Sullustan or alien trooper.)

Tauntaun riders as light scouts would be sweet!

The E-Web Blaster that the snowtroopers set up on a tripod?

Edited by Dr Lucky

Mr. Lucky...yes.......the E-WEB...yes that is it!!

I could see them doing e-web as the snowtrooper support option and tauntaun riders as the echo base support option. Probe droids and medical droids as unit upgrades would be pretty cool too. It seems like they are going for an esb theme in this next wave. Maybe the wave after will be a new hope? It could have obi wan, rebel fleet troopers, sand troopers and dewback riders.

Snowtroopers seem like a decided sidegrade vs. Stormtroopers so they're probably skippable for those of us that value a consistent look.

At 1st glance maybe, but that free attack opens an entirely different playstyle (as long as they keep moving)

Looks like a good maneuver element to compliment the more static Stormtroopers. A pair of these moving forward with Dodge/Rally-Move-Shoot actions, under the cover of a DLT-19 Stormtrooper unit Aim-Shooting should work well.

Or load them up with scopes and extra basics then aim move shoot. 8 whites with surge conversion isn't terrible.....

@kris40k Yeah, I also hoped he would be released as an AT-ST or an model upgrade for one. Him coming out the top hatch in tank commander style would be really cool. AT-ST in command slot would also allow a true walker based force.

For the rebels I hope for tauntauns to. But please make them dragoons, actual cavalry would be silly in context.

Since the actor who plays General Maximillian Veers is also the actor who plays Grand Maester Pycelle, when I play Maximum Firepower I’ll just shout ‘Dracarys!’

In a world where giant two legged tanks strut around the battlefield in plain view of every rebel rocket launcher within a mile, I don't think rebels riding around on furry lizards with blaster pistols is that silly. Gameplay-wise a cavalry unit would be more interesting than a dragoon unit and would require less models.

They would fit more as a support unit and they would be like at-rt but cooler.

The issue with Tautauns is that they were native and specific to Hoth. So not really good for simulating any other planet (hence why we wont get Ewok Shock Troops)

That would also be my problem with Tauntauns tbh. It's easy to handwave Snowtroopers as Marines or the like, but a Tauntaun....kind of tough to explain it being in a desert or a tropical world city etc.

I didn't spend all those years in pretend internet medical school to be called "Mr."

lol....so you are a doctorate in pretned landen?....wunderbar!!!...lol

So I am still brand new to all this gaming stuff and was thinking ...

Will there be rules in place that snow troopers can be used in specific type games, like a Hoth or cold weather setting, and not allowed to be mixed with regular units?

Or ...

Will what I believe is referred to as game meta find a group of folks combining snow troopers with regular troopers, if there is no rule or set of rules regarding their use in game-play, in an effort to make sure they win regardless of concepts like having fun; gamesmanship; etc ...

Same set of questions posed to Rebel troops.

Like, something that was touched upon in an earlier post was a snow trooper is VERY specific and be little odd to see one ... 6 ... 12 ... in an arid climate.

Just curious what someone with a lot of gaming experience thinks on this

Most people will mix and match units, and that'll be the way in official tournaments. Increases the game's variety and replayability by increasing the number of options.

Some people will run theme armies, because they like them. Most people will never attend an official tournament so it doesn't matter.

The problem with trying to restrict units is that you have no control over what other people's terrain boards look like. Good luck trying to get a game if everyone else is doing endor or scarif forces. Coming out of WW2 gaming there is a certain amount of have waving you have to do. Like when I played my winter Soviets against a guys afrika korps on a Normandy beach table.

svelok and DP1989 ... both answers make total sense and appreciate it

I live in an area with no shortage of gaming community ... hyper active ... so was asking to understand how things may materialize

You could, but with the option of getting aim tokens from Veers, I'd rather give them better odds of getting in close to use flamethrower and grenades, and then hand to hand, with their full numbers.
