I suggest downgrade to a MC80s and get gunnery teams. Add comms net to the flotilla to let you double tap with 3 squadrons a turn or add a nav token to the cruiser occasionally.

Your purpose seems a little split. I.E. Yavaris, but a small fighter group. Maybe TRC Salvation?

the idea for yavaris was to use nub and xwing to wreck fighter balls with massive aoe hits is that bad plan?

Should work ok. Jan braces the X-Wings who in turn escort her and keep Ten alive long enough to double tap with his blast effect. With FCTs to get the slow B-Wing into position you could also replace an X-Wing for a YT1300 for a little more hull and counter(1).

With red and blue dice GT is MSU insurance. Especially against something like TRC90's or Hammerheads or killing a flotilla trying to hide behind a more important target in an arc. There are a lot of uses.

how important is the star cruiser vs the battle cruise on the liberty?

I personally perfer the battle. The damage increase is noticeable and it is a red threat.
