front line vs suport carrion lancer.

By Susanooo, in Runewars Tactics

Recently I've played a game with a frontline carrion lancer on my 3x3 reanimate block and it felt like useless upgrade. Thats because reanimates use red dice, do even with blighted standard i hardly ever roll surges for thise extra mortal strikes. do you think that in the future there will be a waiqar infantry with blue dice that could properly use frontline carrion?

It's likely an option for Ardus to get the ability from if you do not have a need to take soloworms or you want some redundancy.

It could also work with Moment of Inspiration or Ardus figure upgrade (or both if you're into that) - both add a white die.

Someone I think mentioned they were using them in two 3x2s with the extra upgrade slots from Ardus, along with File Leader and Moments of Inspiration.

Yes, I think there will be such a unit in the future. In the meantime, rolling with Ardus in your infantry block - yeah, @Polda beat me to it.

my plan was to build 2 units of 3x2 reanimates bith with frontline carrion lancer and 2 units of archers that will dish out blight but i guess i have to take moment of inspiration on thise reanimates now to benefit that surge results. of course i also need ardus that will allow me to take lancers in 3x2 blocks.

The other possibility is Fallen Hero + Fortuna's Dice...but that's 10 points to flip one red die to hit+surge, and then it's exhausted. I don't think it's worth the points, but we might as well explore all options while we're brainstorming. Oh, and it's unique, so only one of your blocks can have it. I bet you'd get more mileage out of Reaping Blade, but that doesn't synergize with blight at all. If you're going for moral strikes, though, it will keep the high-defense units honest.
