Runewars : TMG Vassal support

Hi All,

So I'm going to decloak in the off chance there are others that are interested in lending a hand. I've started working on the module for Runewars in Vassal. It is in every way very early so don't expect something to download and playtest just yet. I'd like to have a playable alpha version by approx New Years. We'll see.

For me I see this as an essential need for the Runewars community. In Armada, vassal enabled a wider set of players to come together and get games in. It enabled people who where passionate about the game to actually be able to play even tho they might be in remote parts of the earth. Heck it enables tournaments with players from very far and very wide.

So if you have a background in graphics, or familiarity with vassal mods and are interested in helping out, do get in touch!

This is most important for those of us who can.

I am pretty busy with painting/podcasting and video editing on top of my day job, but I could lend a hand here and there if able.

Vassal itself is written in Java tho to create a module, I haven't had to write a single line of code, least not yet. Using the Armada modiule as a guide, I'm not sure we'll even have to do that in order to end up with a workable game.

No graphics experience, just Java here.

When you say graphics.. do you mean computer science graphics (math and algos) or more the image / artistic side of it? :)

Lol, while it'd be fun to say yes OpenGL, Vulkan or akin knowledge would be needed, it's gimp / image processing / artistic help that'd be useful right now.

I'd be all over #1! Sorry my graphics-design part of it is lacking :)

I can help with some graphics. I had to pull them and enhance a lot of them for our youtube channel anyways. You can have those right away if you want them.

I use Gimp and InkScape all the time. I can definitely help with graphics. The thing that has been holding me back is the scaling. I'm not sure what size everything needs to be.
