Silencer Squad Suggestions

By PatsNation84, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I am fairly new to X-Wing and I’m thinking of running the Silencer with two Tie/SF. Any suggestions on what upgrades I should use?

Tie Silencer Kylo with Push the limit, Primed thrusters, Autothrusters, Fire control systems and Title.

x2 Zeta Specialists with Lightweight Frame, Fire control systems and Title.

Alternatively, if you want to play around in the debris, how about two slightly tougher /sf and a cheaper 'sniper' build for the silencer to engage from long range on a flank:

  • Test Pilot "Blackout"
    • Trick Shot
    • Collision Detector
    • Primed Thrusters
    • Autothrusters
  • Omega Specialist
    • Spec Ops Training
    • Debris Gambit
    • Fire Control System
    • Advanced Optics
    • Lightweight Frame
  • Omega Specialist
    • Spec Ops Training
    • Debris Gambit
    • Fire Control System
    • Advanced Optics
    • Lightweight Frame

I flew this tonight and enjoyed it. Thought it was trash at first but as the game progressed it gained a lot of momentum (mainly because the SFs could get two AC shots off each)

(100)

•Test Pilot "Blackout" (40) - TIE Silencer
Crack Shot (1), Advanced Sensors (3), Primed Thrusters (1), •First Order Vanguard (2), Autothrusters (2)

Zeta Specialist (30) - TIE/SF Fighter
Accuracy Corrector (3), Advanced Optics (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

I was flying Quickdraw with a similar build (Accuracy Corrector vs FCS) the other night. I kinda liked it. You'll potentially have multiple Evade tokens, and a stashed focus for when you need it.

I'm really loving Accuracy Corrector on SFs. I flew my Zeta and a VI-Quickdraw with Sensor Cluster instead. I figure it's strong for the defensive capacity. However, I'm coming around on Advanced Optics in that particular build. Clearly, it'll be great on a FCS TIE/SF, but with Accuracy Corrector, it seems less necessary, and I went with a pure-defense option. However, the big weakness of AccC SFs is range 1. But with Advanced Optics, if you wind up closing in, you can take a TL and combine that with a stored focus for a big 4-dice shot.

Oh man, you have so many options, my friend!

Here's my personal suggestion:

Blackout

Trick Shot

Collision Detector

AT

Pattern Analyzer

Title

2x Zeta Specialist

Title

LWF

Accuracy Corrector

Pattern Analyzer

I really want to love this ship but I can’t. It’s way too expensive for what it does. The problem is the current high ps meta. I ran into Poe and thweek and it wasn’t much fun at all. VI on Kylo is working too, but you can get nearly the same outcome for less than 40 pts.

Sounds solid.
