Did a thought experiment. With Advanced Optics and Flight Assist Astromech opening up some pretty cheap options (with Poe in particular, but any T-70), could I put together a squad I liked with nothing but T-70s and not feel like I was making major compromises in terms of upgrades.
Overall I've been very happy with the squad. The action economy is solid with pretty much everyone having free reposition actions available allowing them to all adjust positioning will still fighting at full strength. Interestingly enough, Poe is usually the target of stress application, but with Advanced Optics it's usually nothing more than an inconvenience and Jess has passive re-rolls as long as she's got a buddy nearby. Snap remains the most fun pilot to fly. I don't know why, just free boosts for days is fun for me. The reason he got R2 over Poe is because Poe usually either casually kills everything without needing regen or is a lot cause as he gets focus fired. Snap, OTOH, usally ends up being last on the kill list and his passive boost makes him a good candidate to do greens while still performing useful maneuvers.
I had one game where I just brain farted and flew utterly terribly, but other than that it's been doing very well or at least making close games of it.
