Showcase: the weird and wacky: kitbashes, scratchbuilds, and mods that don't fit elsewhere
Not that I have anything to post here (yet?), but good idea getting this showcase set up. You and Barry both have so many gorgeous pieces that just...fit here.

@thespaceinvader same here.
think I fixed it...
Edit: I'll post up better pics of the engine intakes, turret and not-source-accurate multibarrel cannon on the nose if folks want to see them, (and when I get time to take them), but didn't want to push my luck with everyone's patience

I see decimator bits, falcon cockpit, falcon back top section with weird circle things... how many ships went into this?

Just those two (the cockpiut, the tube leading up to it, the docking struts, and the vents, plus the majority of the underside, are all Falcon - I had two once I bought HotR and hadn't even used one of them...) and I salvaged the rest of the decimator into functionality with LEGO.
The rest is scratchbuilt except for a couple of bits from an old 40k Ork kit. And some toothpaste tube caps.
I'm Commander Sheppard and this is my favourite thread on the forums.
Polda.... is that a Tzeentchian Star Viper or was the Mass Effect reference a clue?

I guess it's more of a Protoss Archon thing?

I was going to say the same thing, but I've never played Mass Effect to know what the ships look like.
Hunter-Killers
This is a work in progress. I have two plans for these.
1. First I plan to use them in a custom HotAC type mission where the players need to disable a series of satellite relays but run the risk of activating Hunter-Killer seeker missiles.
2. I also plan to work up Pilot cards for Hunter-Killer class droid starfighters.

Hey, I have that toy!
About 18 months ago I created a whole Epic ship expansion for the Firefly class transport.
I created cards for a few variations of the ship.
I recently bought the yahtzee Firefly and decided to paint it up as the IVS Cerberus gunboat.
had to look that model up.. neat. gonna put that on my shopping list (i can use it for my battletech games too.
)
reading the details of the game, that was made from a hard rubber? did that make it hard to work with regarding adding a stand and whatnot?

I have two different models. The first one with the X-Wing miniatures base is the QMX Little Gorram Heroes model ($100). It’s made of a hard resin or something. I didn’t want to damage the model so I made a custom base that fits the mounting hole of the stand that came with it. This model is about 8” long.
The second one is the yahtzee game ($30). It’s made of hard rubber. I plan to mount it on Epic stands. I’ll probably use magnets. I did have to dril small holes for the gun mounts which was easy to do. The rubber accepted the black spray paint well. This model is about 10” long.
@Velvetelvis I cannot like that Star-Dragon/Ultra-Viper enough!

I was inspired by @Polda to create a zerg/star wars crossover piece.
Here is my first attempt, and I have to say, I like it a lot.
(Sorry for Google Drive links. My computer won't allow me to insert anything else.)

Edited by JBFancourtThis isn't exactly a mod, but it doesn't really fit elsewhere. I got this as a gift and I painted it.
It's a Luxury Yacht 3000. I didn't like how it turned out at first, it's very rough in some spots and overdone in others, but it's growing on me.
My black paint is way too watery by default so it's practically a wash and rarely sticks where I need it to. The grey I've been using is too saturated and blue/purple (although it looks worse in the first pic than in person)? Otherwise my biggest flaw is that I get lazy. Watering down my white and off-white helped me really naturally build up the initial layers and it left some neat, worn-looking effects in a few places, but I started taking shortcuts as I went on, leading to some spots being shiny with too much paint.
Overall, I wanted a fairly simple look to this ship, not straying too far from its typical artwork (unlike the Fortune and Glory ). I had fun doing a bit of a "wood-paneling" look above the cockpit and around some of the windows, as well as that railing area around the back. I did a red stripe down the nose for a sort of Rebel look, and that's pretty much it aside from detailing the little greeblies and a couple of blast marks. The only other thing is a reference to the carpet design from Star Wars Galaxies on the platform with the railing.
Man, i'd LOVE to have some of you guys's talents!
