Unseen Strike - The hidden gem?

By Silvery, in Strategy and deck-building

What do guys think about the Unseen Strike from the Redhorn Gate? In my opinion it's actually amazing card since you can combo it with some readying effects and get basically +9 strength in total for 0 resources. I've been using it with Legolas and Rohan War Horses and i must say that they have worked like charm. Few days ago when i played with my brother the Fords of Isen quest, Legolas killed 4 Dunland enemies in 1 turn with Unseen Strike, horses and few other allies. Another fun combo that could work with this card is with the Mirkwood Runner.

So what you think about this card? Let me know ;)

I like this card but I don't often include any temporary attack boosts in my decks. I usually go for permanent or at least easily repeatable boosts (RIP Hama). However, I do remember using this to good effect in certain quests, such as taking on Smaug in The Lonely Mountain.

For me it is a boss-killing card, many of them has 50 threat. I remember how Legolas twice unssenly struck and finished off a Balrog and my fellowship ran to safety (they ran, fools).

It pulled big weight for me during the black riders box. Sent the wraiths back to school.

I used it in a Bard the Bowman deck with low threat, Snipe out Balrogs, Trolls, Dragons. etc

It's nice with Hama too, not just because you can use it consistently but because he can pull it back and play it again before his attack resolves for a total of +6 attack. Now, with the errata this is diminished somewhat, but having an attacker who can swing for 9 in the early game a couple times isn't terrible.

I personally use it with Dunhere, because you already need a low threat to avoid engaging and you need a high attack on one character because you can't attack with anyone else.

This. My partner used it to great effect in a Hama / Dunhere deck recently:

That's pretty funny coincidence since i just used very similar deck with Dunhere, Hama and Unseen Strikes :D

Works like a charm!
