Task Force Antilles, Usage?

By Thraug, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Is there a generally accepted way to play this card with regard to using multiple copies from a single attack? I gave up following the very long discussion thread and can't recall if the community settled on how to play this. In short:

  1. Can a ship tap more than 1 of these cards, during a single attack, to prevent more than 1 damage?
  2. Was there an official FFG ruling, via email (where the FAQ is the FAQ?)

Please don't redirect me to the discussion thread. I dread going through that mess again, and don't have the time. :(

There is no official guidance as of yet.

Only the discussion thread.

It is commonly accepted it is single use, in my experience.

+1.

I don't think many of us really realized how broken multiple uses was until it was on the table and that ISD front arc got halved and spread across the whole table. :)

Thanks folks, for answering promptly, not spawning another unreadable debate thread (hah), and not redirecting me into the original thread on this topic. :P

I do wish I had something even semi/official for you, though.

Even at single use it is still very effective.

Huh? Why isn't the official preview at least "semi-official" in this case???

It clearly explains that you can mitigate more than one damage.

Trust in FFG you must.

Marketing which does those is not connected to rules, and that is known.

So it is not semi official.

I mean, according to thrm, Foresight could let you discard 4 enemy dice at long range from one attack by spending both Evade tokens...

?

that was part of the main discussion, after all.

So epic:

I only regret I didn't catch the picture from the last one where the token ships was pointing wrong. So fun.

Not meaning to cause arguments or anything, but gotta disagree partially.

Maybe in massive (what 8 or 9) HH swarms i can imagine it gets broken, but even with 4 HHs on the board sqreading damage around didnt seem op, haha in fact many times even taking away 3 damage the HH only just limp, often to be rammed and die or swatted with a single dice.

I suppose for me they dont really seem broken, they save the ship just enough to last the round, and not even that most of the time, when facing an imp star or super ship rhat would wipe them off the board with no effort otherwise.

Anyway back to what i was gonna say, we play multiple use over here and it plays fine.

Plus i mean a brace has the same impact of cutting an ISDs attack pool in half damage wise and is a hella lot more common than a swarm of antilles HHs

At least with antilles HH the damage doesnt go poof, just spread...

... and wow ive gotta start putting these argument together into one post.

Not only in one post. In the correct Post. :D

This isn't a thread for the Arguments, we have a whole argument thread on it, after all.

ONLY spread to one HH. Thank heavens for that.
