Bomb Fun

By j_man_04, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I’m not sure if this is the most efficient way to upgrade these ships, but I thought this could be a fun way to mess with some players by throwing bombs everywhere.

Was discussing with a friend on Wednesday this exact idea. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I think it would be funny as ****. Although I was speculating Nera Dantels for increased shenanigans.

I'm not convinced that MM is better than TS, after a couple disappointments with recent tests, but maybe Conner Nets would be better than what I was trying.

Conner net allows you to close off one side of the board, forcing your opponent to either go through it or go on the other side where my two bombers with Trajectory Simulator are waiting for them. Then you can place the ion bomb on that side as well. That can be the friendly bomb Nym keeps from detonating until the time is right.

Correct. But whether the blockage is sufficient depends a lot on your opponent's list. I tried a MM Cluster Mines on Wednesday, and my opponent had Countdown and Quickdraw blowing past them as if they weren't there. The funnel worked, to a small extent, but it wasn't nearly as good or effective as i'd hoped. In the end, more Trajectory Simulators seem more effective than does a mix. But that's just been my experience, eh? Give it a couple shots and let us know how it works for you!

True. It's far from fail-safe, but could some pressure on some lesser-skilled opponents if I'm lucky. I may also run with seismics on both the B-Wing and bomber.
