I missed the 20th Century Fox fanfare at the beginning of the Force Awakens, and I'm sure it will be the same with Last Jedi. Maybe now they can put that back in before the opening statement and the crawl. Anyone else miss that little blurb of a song?
Disney buys 20th Century Fox = Fanfare?

I certainly missed it. But I'm worried that Disney is now approaching the size where the government might start whack in Disney with antitrust laws
does this mean marvel controls x-men again?

Good question..... I hope so.

Technically this means that Disney controls Marvel and has recovered the rights to X-men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, etc... which would allow them to be used in the MCU. Also means that the MCU and other properties can use the term mutants again.

The FF is a stickier proposition. It’s my understanding that Fox has distribution, but another company has the actual movie rights in perpetuity, and has worked with Fox.
The other element of note for here is that Fox retained distribution rights for the first Star Wars (aka A New Hope), so Disney/LFL has regained distribution access to it. All of the formal clearances for Disney’s acquisition of Fox’s properties should be complete in time for the home video release of Episode IX, allowing for a complete set of the saga to be released.
Will be interesting if A New Hope will arrive on netflix before it gets moved to this new disney streaming service. Hopefully disney is not foolish enough to try to establish their own streaming service internationally as well and leave things with netflix there.
After the Fox acquisition, Disney will own 60% of Hulu; I half suspect they'll create their "new" streaming service by buying the rest of Hulu and renaming it.

Oh, come now!
Who wouldn't love a Star Wars movie that opened with that delightful Disney magic kingdom "wish upon a star" ditty?
Yeah, I missed it, too...

Honestly I would prefer this, having Hulu and Netflix already seemed like a lot, j really don’t want to deal with every station making their own paid steaming service

You are not the only one; I have seen news reports in various places explaining the "why" behind this acquisition, and many reporters and financial analysis believe with Disney's controlling stake of Hulu and all the new content/IP from there merger, it would make more sense to build upon Hulu's framework then start from scratch on their own streaming service (assuming they outright buy ALL of Hulu's outstanding stakes from ComCast and Time Warner).

Me too!
Alas, I'm pretty sure the live action Star Wars series and new Young Justice will break my meager willpower and leave me unable to say no to the Disney and DC services. At best, I'll buy a month at a time to binge the new stuff I like.

I’ll be patient, it’s like when I wanted to watch the new trek because I didn’t want to download that Chanel’s streaming app, but then when I went to visit my inkaws in Bahrain they didn’t have that app so they just had them on Middle East Netflix
