Named Resurgent Class Star Destroyers

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in Star Wars: Armada

We currently have

The Finalizer

The Absolution from the Phasma novel

The Retribution from Battlefront II

more to come I am sure.

Any others from this class show up in the movie (named or no), besides Finalizer ?

Looks like there's enough to make an Armada release. 10/10 would buy. The Resurgent Class is freaking sweet.

Yes, there are about three or four others in orbit of Starkiller Base in TFA.

I honestly expected it in wave 7, but was perfectly happy to get another ISD instead.

I'd be real surprised if wave 8 wasn't the Finalizer and the Raddus. (Obviously have enough title cards for the Resurgent-class, even if FFG ends up making a few of their own up; do need to get some more for that Mon Cal ship, though. Hopefully nothing in dialog indicates it is literally a one-off.)

Maybe that can be the rebel one off. Since the Imps have the interdictor which still only has the one title. I'd be okay with that. Still, the FO would need a second or third ship to balance the other resistance ships, we need the resistance Ninka, nebulon C, and the vigil as well.

The rebels have a ship with only one title, the pelta.

Given X-Wing, and a dearth of canon material to draw on for the Empire, you might be right that they bring material from the sequel trilogy into Armada.

I'd still rather not have it, though. I just wanna play in the Galactic Civil War as the Empire. While I do like TFA (seeing TLJ tomorrow late afternoon), it feels like a different setting that shouldn't cross over into the GCW. I can see things being holdovers (ie. Acclamators & Venators in GCW-era), but I don't want stuff traveling back in time.

Obviously, however, FFG is going to do the things that will allow them to make money with sales, though.

I can feel the sorrow flowing from your post.

Off topic a bit, but I think it's more similar to the interdictor. They are both rarely seen, can't decide what they want to do, and are typically bemoaned as trash.

On topic, even if the raddus is a one off, I would love to see it on the table.

I’m torn, because I agree with you yet I’ve come to think the Resurgent class is quite cool looking. And there is a lack of decent imperial ship classes. (Tector doesn’t count.)

I think FFG should create a new ship like the raider and put it on a new XL size base.

I agree that there are not that many recognizable decent-looking Imperial ship classes, and - indeed - the Tector doesn't count. I think this is largely because of a design-preference for Imperial uniformity among Lucasfilm's leading ship stylists. That makes for good film design, but makes things difficult for FFG.

I have yet to fall in love with the Resurgent, however.

I am already in love with the Executor-class Star Dreadnought, but let's not engage in that debate here.

I look forward to their release, and I suspect it'll happen, but I don't think it'll be for a bit. Remember we didn't get the mc75 until ___________... and Rogue one came out a year ago.
