Darth Sanguis, I wish to impart sympathy and/or empathy to the plight of the working consumer. Microtranaction lootbox systems are anti-consumer in their ability to decrease the buying power of the consumer. P2W forces even more burden if they seek to find enjoyment from thier game. Battlefront was P2W preadjustments. Boba Fett had access to a star card making him invulnerable durring one of his abilities.
On-topic: The additonal points of view on a starship some of us saw from differnt trend gives me intrest in its future inclusion in Star Wars: Armada.
Let it go. You’re talking to someone who believes the bonuses from stat cards are “insignificant.”
Little does he know we own the game (played mainly by my 8 year old). Upgrading the lasers and the hull of fighters and bombers at least twice changes the game very significantly. Beyond that things delve into the realm of the simple.
That being said, he misread my earlier statement, meant to only be humorous, as an attack. It was, but on the controversy itself. Again, a lot of people take themselves and their hobbies too seriously and just want to be defensive about something (usually because of other issues in their lives), but what do I know. I’m apparently a “moron.”
As a whole the game is fine. It does seem to be lacking that certain something, which I believe stems from a point differential with regards to the goals of each class, mainly the officer, who doesn’t get points based on boosts or assisting their team. Sometimes it also seems like playing the objectives is far less rewarding with points then it should be.
Ship combat is a good time though, but again we have the stat cards to make it just that. Getting to that point felt like a chore, had we known others could or were just buying up to it would’ve most likely resulted in the game being shelved. We own better games in the genre, and the only real interest stems mainly from the license.
On point: To me those new ships remind me more of giant Y-wings than anything. When I was a wee lad I had this small Y-wing toy that was metal with plastic engines that you could press a button to make pop off. The engineless hull shape is very similar. I’m willing to bet that’s just me though.
Where is everyone with regards to the new movies being represented in Armada? Feels like most folks are kind of hostile to the idea of new factions or time periods being represented. (This should be and probably has been a separate thread)
