Morality, Strength, Weakness

By Rememberry, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Sry for beeing too stupid for the Rules ..., but how are Morality, Strength and Weakness meant to work together?

A)

Do I choose (or roll) weakness & strength independently from my moral-value and there is no mechanic for changing? -If so, why do they show up together in 1 table with the value??

B)

Or has every char with a morality of 50 the same weakness and strength??

You may either roll dice to determine or choose a specific Strength and Weakness. Think of them as descriptions of how you are playing your character's personality. Is their Moral Strength Justice? Then when you're playing the character, in their good moments, they should want to do the right thing and see that everyone gets treated fairly. Is their Moral Weakness Hate? Maybe there is a person or group that they hate so much it could compromise their beliefs in Justice and they might potentially make bad decisions because of it.

The Moral Strength and Weakness are only tied to your Morality in that roleplaying one or the other could influence how much Conflict you receive in that session.

In addition, the optional rule for the GM to trigger Morality might see the character in a situation that tests their Moral Strength and Weakness out and regardless of passing/failing such a test, the end result of their Morality shift that session is doubled.

THX.

So you'd say it's option A, wouldn't you?

But like me, you also have no clue why strengths & weaknesses show up on the same table with the morality-values??

You don't have to roll them, most people I know simply choose the pairing that best fits their character concept. And I'm not sure what you are asking about them being on the same table as Morality values? Could you clarify a bit on this part?

Again, you can roll or you can choose them. Up to the player.

The values shown on Table 2-1 on page 50 of the Force & Destiny Core Rulebook are not the morality scale but for randomly rolling which Emotional Strength/Weakness you have. If you notice, the value at the top says d100 as in rolling a percentile to determine randomly which Strength/Weakness you get. They are paired together, left to right. So say you roll 82 on your percentile d100 roll. You would get Justice as a Strength and Cruelty as a Weakness. That or you can roll for your Strength and then roll for your Weakness. Or you can just choose whichever fits the description of your character's personality best.

That helped, thanks.
