Jam True or False

By Boom Owl, in X-Wing Rules Questions

True or False:

1. Jam Tokens Stack

2. Jam Tokens Are Not Removed During the End Phase

3. A Jam Token is removed when a Jammed ship is forced by Jam to remove a Focus, Evade, or Target Lock. Which is when Jam and any of those 3 exist on the same ship.

4. Jam Tokens do not effect re-enforce tokens.

5. Jam tokens can prevent Assaj from converting Stress Tokens into Evades with Latts Razi by immediately causing the evade to be removed unless Assaj chooses to remove a Focus or TL instead.

Pretty sure statement 1 is false.

1. Unclear. Its certainly possible to get 2+ Jam Tokens at once, but its unknown if getting a single focus/evade/blue target lock removes them both/all.

2. True. Jam tokens stick around till their condition for removal is met.

3. True.

4. True. Jam only effects the tokens it specifies, which are focus, evade, and blue target locks.

5. False. Latts Razzi adds an evade result, not an evade token, so there is no interaction at all with Jam.

Thanks for the responses. Interesting about the stacking.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't stack, and since they need to be paired off with the focus/evade/TL to be removed, there shouldn't be an issue with a single action removing all of them.

2-4 I would also agree are true, for number 5 I'm just not very familiar with Assaj and Latts Razzi, but I would assume Innese had it right.

They stack because no rule say token do not stack, and there is a specific rule for Blue Target Lock not stacking.

And when you look at the rules, they will each remove a token and them self but they are not all removed at the same time like ion:

"When a ship has both a jam token and a focus, evade, or blue target lock token, remove the jam token. Then that ship chooses and removes one of its focus, evade, or blue target lock tokens. A ship is "Jammed" if it has a jam token."

When there is A jam, the ability trigger, then you remove THE jam and another token, it do not say remove ALL jam token, it specify the one that triggered. After this, if there is still A jam token and another token, the ability will trigger again.

This is contrary to Burnout SLAM, that just look for the SLAM action being done and have no way to know which Burnout SLAM created the trigger, because it come from that action itself.

The wording leaves it pretty much indicating they stack, but they flopped on the order of things so its fuzzy as heck right now.

Issue isnt getting multiple jams, its multiple triggers going off

Have 3 jam tokens and 1 Focus. Trigger: "Have jam token and focus, evade, or blue targetlock"
Event1: Remove the jam token
Event2: Choose and discard 1 focus, evade, or blue targetlock

Issue is: you still have 2 more triggers for having a Jam+Focus token since all 3 events triggered simo but you resolve them one at a time, and since you dont remove the focus to remove the jam you still remove the jam since removing it is independent of the focus removal.

Its such a fuzzy and wonky flippin' sequence that it just cant possibly be intended. 100% positive they faq it so they stack properly

It really, really should have read "Remove one of your focus, evade, or blue targetlocks and then remove 1 jam token"
