So the Idea is Simple really, Dormitz and Company deploy at 12 after seeing where my opponent sets up. The extra start range, and Focus evades being passed around like candy with each ship. The last ship can get an Evade and two focus, 3 focus, what have you. Jam them up into snap shot range after coordinating from Dormitz. Quick shots and too close for missle Alpha Strikes.

Can you get into offense range 1st round?

only if an opponent chooses to head towards you. As noted, you can probably get into range 2 if they choose to head straight at you, and certainly you can get close enough to spoil a cruise missile alpha strike, but there's a good chance, seeing a squad like that, that your opponent will deploy facing along their board edge, and you won't be able to get shots if they do that.
