Variant of a list I used at a game night the other night. Changed that list to drop Dodonna’s Pride in exchange for two Combat Retrofits.
Like the list a lot overall.

Nice list. Looks super effective, and I love the Y-wing cloud.
Are you mostly pushing the bombers with the flotillas, or Defiance? I'm curious how SP has worked out for you. I tend to have a hard time making it work without a strong focus on positioning flexibility for my bombers. I find that fast bombers, Rogue, Relay, and Boosted Comms go a long way in that objective--have you had a hard time getting the bomber shots into the rear arc without any of that control flexibility?
Do you think BC on the pickle would be a good fit to push squadrons on that one or two turns that you're looking to farm SP points? I'm not sure where the points to pay for it would come from though, honestly. I'm not huge on JL personally--that and BH would pay for BC. While losing BH hurts, it might be worth it if you're having issues optimizing objective play.
I also really like QBT on an ET Defiance. ET lets you keep that speed dial low while still getting where you want to be, and QBT on top of a Defiance proc can start getting to a critical mass of dice, super quick. But, again, points. If it were me I'd look at dropping Dutch to generic, but I think squadron builds are very tied up in personal tactics, so it's hard to recommend making a change with such a unique ace without knowing how you use him.
I've been looking at options for a shooty Defiance list. I might give this a try! ![]()
Hey thanks!
So I was running a goofier variant of this list at a GNK mini-tournament. I found, despite what I initially planned, that I tended to not command the squads from the MC80 (and in that version of the fleet I only had one flotilla!).
To that end I thought about BC on Defiance, but ultimately I think it prefers the flexibility of being able to Nav / Eng command. Because of the YTs and Toryn it wants to roll as a big cloud anyway, so now I envisage it as the three flots shepherding the cloud.
In terms of SP, I definitely agree that it’s better suited to fast movers (A-Wings in particular were a cornerstone of a list a while ago). What I find though is that with such a sizable cloud, most players are innately reluctant to pick SP even if the Y’s are a little slow. Moreover, being able to completely counter deploy is a real boon if they do take it, and something that I feel helps even out the squads not being necessarily perfect for it.
QBT is a neat idea! And I might have to fiddle with points and give it a go a few times. I think the MC80s roll in this list is to be the focus of enemy attention, and to bully ships late game once the squads have gone to work, so that extra dice could be really nice.
Dutch definitely isn’t vital, but I use him as a soft counter puncher in the squadron battle. Particularly against Yavaris squads and aces in general he’s great as an annoyance. You get him to proc on Dash or Wedge or Maarek and he’s suddenly punching well above his weight through the damage he’s saved.
