Yesterday I brought it home and I love the model!!! The upgrades are cool and I am looking forward to play!
I have Resistence Bomber and it's AWESOME!
Let us know how you make it work in a list. I want to love it but I haven’t bought one when I haven’t even come up with a way I would want to use it that seems any good.

You're looking at this the wrong way. Pick one up and build a list around it. Play with it. The thing is pretty tanky, launches bombs, and can block like a Jersey Barrier. Some of the cards are useful on other ships and can give you a different look to an existing squad.
I think FFG definitely had the Jumpmaster in mind when designing this ship. They didn't want another balance fiasco with a large base PWT, so they seemed to have played it very safe with the Resistance Bomber.
I for one won't bother picking one up. There really isn't a card in the pack that seems like a must have. They look badass in The Last Jedi trailers, but the model is very 'meh'.

they could have easily fixed that by giving it Mobile Arc treatment.
It makes no sense for this thing to have a 2die attack, but if they gave it a 3-4die PWT it would become a lethal problem...again.... its almost as if PWT as a whole is a terrible idea and FFG should never release another ship with it!
It lacks a crew (which is even weirder) because of Sabine...again they should have just faq'd her to be a friggen die roll and/or R1-3 limit than try to design around her.
But, it has a tech/system slot and can drop 4 Proton bombs for 7pts instead of 12pts.
Its not a terrible ship like i fully expected it to be, i ran it in a completely joke list and i was rather impressed with how long that thing took to go down and how much chaos its bombs was causing (course i was just laying clusters all over the place rather than launching bombs). I'm having bigger issues trying to find proper buddies than i am trying to use it on its own. Having a ship in the mid-30s range as rebels tends to mess with me, i always end up with a high bid or not quite enough for another ship or the 2 ships i had in mind were 2ish points overcosted to bring lol.
I'm pretty sure the bomber is better than people think it is.
I know two people who have independently made triple bomber squads and they're both getting good results in their playtesting.
The Reb Zepplin is awesome!
I agree.
Though the raw hp power creep is starting to get sorta comical.
Edited by Boom Owlthe bomber is a meticulously balanced ship, though I wish they had just removed the PWT for a stronger set of arcs (like a large base ARC) to reflect the awesome model's loadout
and really, the less PWTs in the game the far better we will be for it

note, the shipisn't bad at all. It just isn't Miranda

The bomber is what the Scurgg should have been. That thing is way over powered.
hey fickle, outta put it on a Huge Ship post.
its hilarious lol. I only use Huge Ship posts for my large ships because they fit so so much better than those stupid pegs do (Ghost exception of course)
also thats another thing they could have done: give it an inverted ARC treatment! It has an aux arc with 2die forward, 3die rear. Look at how many guns are on the back half!
Edited by Vineheart01I have only played the Crimson Specialist with proton bombs, ordinance tubes, bomb chucker, deflective plating, Advanced Optics, and title.
Next time I’ll drop title and AO.
I liked it a lot. I want to see how the title can be used better and how a two bomber plus t-70 list would work.
I don’t see it winning top tables, but it will be fun to play.

Awesome! Makes me reconsider the repaint with which I've been tinkering.

Well, bombs ignore reinforce and they have a lot of HP...
This seems good, not a formation flying thing. And not at all my speed gameplay wise. But still set the Reb Zepp to Ramming Speed!!

It's definitely better than an Outer Rim Smuggler.
I am loving the Resistance Bombers. I fly each as a bumper. Obstacles and Minefield Mapper placement to block off the middle and use that as my approach. Cobalt Leader places mines to block off ingress routes to the middle. Crimson Specialist tries for an Ion Bomb launch and a block, hoping to lock them in place long enough for Sabine damage and Ezra to kill. Running over Cluster Mines using a Deflective Plating or the Ezrabug with an enemy at range 1 to the mine is always fun as well. The closest match destroyed CL, CS at half, & Ezra (full shields, but 2 hull damage) and the enemy with a surviving Nora (2 hull left). 5-0 with the following ships, but minor changes to the Upgrades:
| "Crimson Specialist" | 27 |
| Trajectory Simulator | 1 |
| Ion Bombs | 2 |
| Ordnance Silos | 2 |
| Deflective Plating | 1 |
| Ship Total: 33 | |
| "Cobalt Leader" — | 28 |
| Minefield Mapper | 0 |
| Cluster Mines | 4 |
| Ordnance Silos | 2 |
| Deflective Plating | 1 |
| Ship Total: 35 | |
| Ezra Bridger (Sheathipede) | 17 |
| Elusiveness | 2 |
| Sabine Wren | 2 |
| R2-D2 | 4 |
| Thermal Detonators | 3 |
| Shield Upgrade | 4 |
|
Ship Total: 32 |

what good is minefield mapper doing? its just 1 cluster bomb.
Then again its better than an empty system slot.

Cobalt is probably a better use for Mapper than most thanks to his ability. Since he basically has Wedge's pilot ability when shooting someone at range 1 of a bomb token, they only have to be near it for him to get a bonus.
And Specialist definitely seems like the early star of the pack. I really want to try him with Proton Bombs.

Oh right that pilot, derp, always forget about him.
Guess that works. Its still only 1 set of clusters (stupid faq...) but thats a wide area for his ability to trigger even with 1 bomb.

Controlling the battlefield, as a Cluster Mine has a wide spread. Block off an approach you don't want the enemy to take. Maybe an edge to make them either go through the middle or in the middle to block off a straight shot through the obstacles. If the enemy set up on opposite corners, maybe place it between their ships to isolate the weaker force which you go after first.
I fly large base ships often and am pretty good at judging maneuvers around closely spaced obstacles. So I fly my list in the middle of the debris field. I generally like to block off the easiest entrance to the field from the enemy so I can get in first.
