[Mafia] Rebel Runners - Day 1

By Onidsen, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

Answers to questions about role interactions:

The scout sees the same thing if their target runs or if their target does nothing

If the scout targets a player whose action gets cancelled because of a player running, they see the same thing as if their target had done nothing

Thank you for answering my Q Oni. Welp I was hoping the interactions would get different results... that could’ve shed some light on what happened the night Nippy got redirected...

im at a loss guys

From what it looks like, Ard ran, scum tried to kill Ard

Did Wig run too?

Did Wig run too?

He refuses to claim, so rn all we know is that Ard ran, and well if Wig kept it a secret knowing that it’s vital to our understanding of what happened, how is he town?

"The bold bits interest me quite a lot here. Why were you saying it in this way? With "The town and I" instead of simply stating you ARE town like you did further on?"

And make a claim on Day 1? I can see Gink's response: "You're an idiot!" "Bloody Git!"

I think proper context is required here, so let's start at the beginning. I stated that if the group believed Rajam was scummy, I was prepared to vote him for the Day 1 lynch. Ghost replied to me the following:

On ‎12‎/‎15‎/‎2017 at 6:12 AM, GhostofNobodyInParticular said:

What if the town decides to vote him, but you would have been more suspicious of somebody else, had you analyzed rather than merely voted? Would it not be better to double-check that you yourself agree with the majority read, and perhaps discover a flaw in the thinking instead, rather than follow?

Therefore I would imagine that each player analyzing all other players' actions prior to any voting would be recommended.

Ghost believed I was not thinking things through. I replied to him with this:

Perhaps I didn't state my intention clearly. There seemed to be a growing chorus of voices who found Rajam's post suspicious and in my opinion potentially scummy. I anticipated additional discussion on the subject while I was at work today. So, my post this morning was meant to voice my support for an action that I deemed possible. In reality, the conversation didn't evolve, so we're still doing what usually happens on Day One: chasing butterflies.

I take my votes seriously. I don't follow on a whim. I'm my own smuggler. The most important person I look out for is me.

(I've bolded the bit you indicated.)

Broba chimed in:

On ‎12‎/‎15‎/‎2017 at 6:42 PM, BrobaFett said:

Then maybe town doesnt need you around?

And I replied:

The town and I have identical interests in this scenario; Imperial scum must be eliminated.

(Again, I have bolded the bit you identified.

So, let me start with the first bit. The sentence preceding the statement you identify is important to consider: "I don't follow on a whim." I'm telling Ghost that I don't support a group thought or action without careful consideration. I have my own thoughts and opinions, hence my next sentence, "I'm my own smuggler." My original sentence read "I'm my own man," but I decided to change the word "man" to "smuggler" to add some flavor from Oni's set up post. Oni's set up also inspired my next sentence, "The most important person I look out for is me." Here is the appropriate section of Oni's doc for reference:

Rebel Runners

These rebel blockade runners have formed into a tight-knit community, intent on keeping Hyperion supplied with everything it needs to continue it's fight against the Empire. Some of these runners even dream that Hyperion's resistance might inspire other systems to join, reigniting the flame of the old Confederacy. Others are in it for the profit, and want to keep the Hyperion market open for their goods as long as profit.

But regardless of their motive, each of the disparate smugglers is dedicated to keeping Hyperion free.

Regarding your second bit, your analysis is incorrect if you are trying to suggest that I committed a Freudian slip by saying "The Town." Let me pose a question. What interests do the members of this town hold in this game? The answer comes directly from Oni's set up post again: "The Runners win if they find and destroy all of the infiltrators." I, as a member of this town, share the same end goal, the destruction of the Imperial infiltrators. Hence my use of "The town and I." My post was meant to assure Broba, who I suspected as being a fellow townie, that if the members of the town needed me I would be there.

And btw, a variation of the sentence I quoted from Oni's set-up doc appeared in my role PM.

Wasn't asking for a claim D1 or even talking about it. I confused by why at the beginning you used "Town and I" and later you said (quite a lot too btw) "We townies".

That does make more sense, sorry. I had understood it as if you were not putting yourself for the town win but to yourself.

I'm well-aware of the word twisting that there is the role PM that is not contained within Oni's post, but I have no guarantee that scum don't know what it is, because sometimes when those things happen, there is always the chance of the GM also giving that info for scum. Although if they don't, you are most definitely town now reading those posts again

I'm more and more thinking Cninj is scum, and honestly those vote records definitely don't help him...

posted accidentally before finishing:

I'll do a re-read focusing on him, will have proper thoughts soon

Just going back and looking carefully at the vote counts. Day one is really interesting.

Aside from the F up, would the scum have placed votes (Or made sure to?) If so the votes on Ebon or Vis break down like this:

Ebon - JJ (unknown) 1, Ovi (town)2, Pod (scum)3, Me (Town) 4th.

Vis - Toad (unknown) 1, Mads (Unknown)2, Gink/Broba (Town) 3/4

What do you think? If Vis is scum, would that be the reason no one else jumped in on the vote? Hoping that with 8 there would be a split?

(Ebon was on jj, Rajam and Vis on The Toad. Ard Gnips WigTii were no votes)

I agree with that actually.

On 12/20/2017 at 5:45 PM, Ginkapo said:

It clears me from all cases where scum does not have multiple hackers.

Scum are redirecting Ebon (or he is lying) onto town targets so they are not exposed. Its a safety move.

This means CNinj is confirmed town.

We already know Wigti is very very likely town because of mod error.

Ebon unfortunately is likely town because of being redirected. It shows scum have concerns over his role. Not a clue why as it was blatant he would check me. Though I suppose Pod or JJ could have been concerned.

If CNinj is not a pilot (please confirm) then Ebon is scum.

So actually you confirming that you were redirected means a lot.

This little nugget of info from our dead friend should help... What about this @Visovics ?

:)

I agree that the vote count looks bad. That being said though, as town vanilla my vote is my power and I've learned to just F it and hammer when possible.

(But as I've said before I wish I was scum because they're kicking our asses)

**** I'd forgotten Ebon was redirected to you when you ran... tho I'd have reached that in my re-read... thanks for saving me from that effort

I think he meant of the second half

Alright, I'm absolutely lost on reads now... I swear to god if Wig Cninj Toad is the scum team...

@Madaghmire you vanished all of a sudden. How are your JJ Ard reads you said you'd look at?

@WigTii you claim runner, did you run the night there was no kill? Not the last night but the one before?

I have claimed the Runner faction. I have not claimed a role.

Did anyone get redirected last night?

##vote TheToad

if you are any runner at all you would have noticed in the role pm that runner precedes the role

short version? I’ve been out all day. Still am but on the quick;

Gink marks JJ as town early, but also redirects gnips into him suggesting a change of how he viewed him. He hasnt been super active, but he generally isn’t. I really dont like the lack of answer regarding nips/running.

Ard laid out the case against himself pretty well.

7 hours, if anyone’s got a convincing case that we can nail down a scum then now is the time to do it.
