Looking For Additional Hosting of Your Expansions?

By Elric1966, in Talisman Home Brews

First off let me state that I am in NO WAY trying to compete with Jon and Talisman Island. I totally respect Jon and all the years of hard work he has put into his site making as much as he can available for us to download and use in our games. :)

Now, I would like to offer an additional (mirror) site for those that want to have their work displayed and available for players to use. :)

There is no cost for this service and you get an album in the Gallery which will show all of the files in your Expansion as well as having the set available for download.

If your Expansion is already available and you wish to also offer it on my site, then please visit the Talisman (4th Edition & Revised) Group on my site and let me know where I can download it and also state that you are giving me permission to list it.

Thanks! :)

Interesting site, lots of potential diversity in content... I might make a couple of suggestions.

The drill-down to get to the 3rd party expansions in the "Files" section is a bit much. You might consider reducing the clicks necessary to get there by altering the "Talisman" level folders to be for the various editions separated and reduce at least one level of drill down. Once I got to to the "Expansions" folder, there was nothing in it, yet the "Newest Files" links show there should be files there.

For preview of downloaded packages you might also considering separate hosting for documents (in PDF) so that people can preview what an expansion is about. Previews of cards are nice too, but not enough to know what the expansion will do. I suppose you could also request (and maybe you have somewhere else) a brief 25 to 50 description that might accomplish that same thing.

I'll keep you in mind when it comes time to put out my next final release of something.

Done! I see your point since I'm not planning on hosting a TON of board games but just a selected few. I also double-checked and the Malal Expansion is listed when you navigate down to the 3rd Edition Expansions. I don't know why it didn't show up for you though.

Rulebook for Malal has been separated out, converted to PDF and placed in the Expansions Folder.

Thank You! :)

And double thanks for the valuable input. I'll keep these in mind as time progresses. :)
