Kinda curious to see what you people think is plausible. The game (like the movies) started as X-Wings vs. TIE Fighters, and the natural progression was to expand that to every wing and TIE in the Galaxy. So we've got X-Wings, Y-Wings, A-Wings, B-Wings, E-Wings, K-Wings, and U-Wings now versus TIE Fighters, Interceptors, Bombers, Advanced, Aggressors, Advanced Prototypes, Punishers, Silencers, Strikers, Phantoms, and Defenders. So what's left?
TIE/br Boarding Shuttle:
These guys are official canon, and despite FFG's attempts with the TIE Shuttle title for Bombers, these things haven't actually been done, because you can't actually board anybody with a TIE Shuttle. Also note TIE/sh is a different thing, used by officers who couldn't afford a Lambda (like Needa).
TIE Lander:
Weirdly enough, these things are canon. Not sure what they'd do, I guess we'd have an Imperial U-Wing on our hands. Yay.
TIE Reaper:
You've probably seen plenty of comments about why we need this in the game and whatnot, so moving on.
TIE Predator:
Basically a futuristic TIE Interceptor. With the Silencer being a thing, it probably wouldn't fill a unique niche, but the moving wings might give it a cool title and dial.
TIE Avenger:
The other TIE Advanced. I think this is very similar to the TIE Advanced Prototype in terms of niche, but maybe you disagree.
TIE Scout:
I actually kinda like it, personally. It might be fun to have a cheap crew carrier like this, but the Empire does already have plenty of such options.
TIE Droid:
The other TIE/D. Am I the only one who badly wants this as a 10-Cost cheap filler craft? Bonus kudos if it can Thweek your own ships!
TIE Sentinel:
I seem to recall we talked about this a while ago. Super cool, but also super obscure.
TIE Oppressor:
Seriously, just WTF. I hope we never get the the point where FFG is this much scraping the bottom of the barrel. Sorry Oppressor fans. I just can't see it.
Things that might be more like titles for the TIE Fighter or Bomber include the TIE Vanguard, the Recon TIE, and the TIE Heavy Bomber (TIE Heavy shown below).
Now the ?-Wings. Note that I didn't put the V-Wing here because that's Imperial, and I'm thinking specifically of Rebels here.
H-Wing:
Basically a Rebel TIE Punisher (a heavy bomber). Not really sure I like it though.
M-Wing:
For whatever reason, I don't think this one's that ugly. Again, basically a heavy Y-Wing.
C-Wing - can't find a picture, so I'm guessing it's too obscure. Anybody know more about it?
L-Wing and G-Wing:
They're from the KotOR era, so N/A.
D-Wing:
I really don't even care at this point. Sure, it's ugly, but whatever. Somebody tell me why you care about this thing and I'll listen. (Edit: better picture, see below):
T-Wing:
Finally, a good one! I love the T-Wing. Anyone agree? What would it do?
So what do you people think? Any of these stand a chance? Which ones?
