Tanukifest 2018: Date Pending

By Lapp, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

Howdy folks, just wanted to let everyone know that Tanukifest is still happening in the Spring, just waiting on the date so I can update everyone:)

What is Tanukifest?

From 2011-2013 it was a weekend of l5r events that took place in the greater Philadelphia area. Mostly official, these events combined Winter Court AEG events with 7th Dimension (store in Jenkintown) Level 10/15/20 events. In 2014-2015 we did Tanukifest: Reloaded as a single Doomtown event and 2016-2017 as the unofficial BigDeck and Modern World Championship to keep the spirit of l5r alive before the relaunch. In the last two years we've had artists Drew Baker, Charles Urbach, and Bryon Mutt Wackwitz in attendance.

At some point it was moved to the spring so we can combine it with my favorite beer festival. Mainly it's a celebratory weekend of flipping cardboard and general comradreie.

This year we will be hosting BigDeck, Modern, new5r, and a couple other surprises. All the details will be posted once the date is set.

One of my favourite weekends of the year. Always a great event, and followed by a fantastic beer festival. Can't go wrong!

Also, three-peat. Just saying.

Would that be the Jenkintown Jazz and Beer Festival? If so I may have to make the trip up to Philly.

Nope, it's the Yards Real Ale Festival, in something like it's tenth year now. It's a very cool, laid back event, and well worth attending.

Hmm... haven't heard of it.

Well regardless, I'm in DC and my family's in Philly so I should be able to get up there. Looking forward to the date announcements!

Yards is May 20th so we are looking at that weekend, pending venue conformation.

We are confirmed for that weekend, will make separate thread with details later this week.
