Cruise Missles and Slam

By Flythos, in X-Wing Rules Questions

How does this work ? ...

for example: 2 Bank + 2 Bank Slam = + 2 dice OR + 4 dice

was the speed of your last maneuver a 2 bank, or a 4 bank?

Exactly. It's still two speed 2 manoeuvres, not a single speed 4 one.

"You may roll additional attack dice equal to the speed of the maneuver you executed this round, to a maximum of 4 additional dice." (Card for reference)

Above answers are correct, you will only add 2 additional dice as - no matter which maneuver you reference - "the speed of the maneuver" was two.

Don't think it matters because you cannot perform an attack after doing a SLAM action.

Lieutenant Karsabi can do that.

Good call... missed that. It wager it would be the speed of your maneuver before the SLAM then.

Any gunboat with the OS-1 title can do it too. Since you have to have target locks to fire the cruise missiles to begin with...

Well, considering a SLAM is a maneuver and it must be the same speed as the maneuver you just executed from your dial, then it's quite easily either of them.

;)

Yep 3 ACSWs with Adv Slam + CM (or Harp) + OS1 = Move 3, slam 3, TL and Fire with 4 dice, next round 3 hard turn + slam 3 hard + Reload and Fire, rinse repeat.
Harps keep the dice at 4 each turn, but have their drawbacks. You can always go UGM with a constant 1-3 range and 3 dice and only need to focus rather than TL (and allows for a more forgiving hard 2 +slam hard 2). But I like the TL, throw PTL on them so you can reload and either re-TL or Focus as needed. Sure you have to clear stress the next round, but I can live with that for 12 dice around.

Might take 40 acres to turn truck around but she has a bite on the other side.

What happens if you coordinate a high PS ship with SLAM that hasn't moved yet

Cant Slam as a free action. Its impossible to slam before you acutally perform a maneuver.

Nothing happens and you go back and pick a legal action.
