I still remember the hype for Revenge of the Sith and how it was on par with the OT.

If you watch Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith bank to back without any of the prior baggage, Revenge of the Sith is hands down the better film. As endcaps of their respective triologies, Revenge of the Sith is still the better film.

Only when you compare each trilogy as a whole does Sith look worse than Jedi.

I agree. Which is saying something, because I actually really liked Jedi.

And do do I. Which is why I make a point of this whenever I can.

Los of Star Wars fans love The Clone Wars Animated series, and that is basically taking every lesson learned in Revenge of the Sith and applying it to a Star Wars tv show.

I'll be in the theater, 7pm on Thursday. I've seen the first showing of every release going back to the special editions (I'm only 34, so couldn't see the OT release), and I'm not breaking my streak now. This will be my kiddo's 3rd first-showing, and they're six years old :-)

Going first really helps avoid spoilers.

I am heading to the midnight screening in Perth, Western Australia in 7 hours, 8 minutes. To say that I am excited would be an understatement - I don't think I'll be able to sit still until I get there.

...4 hours...

(if it wasn't for my boss I could be watching it NOW!)

Given this is the Armada-group 'no spoiler' thread, I'm wondering if anyone can comment whether we get any new ships that haven't been already revealed?

IE...well, I guess I'll spoiler tag this, although if you've been on the forums in the past few weeks, you'll know all these already...

  • Raddus
  • Anodyne (Nebulon-C)
  • Ninka (some kind of powerful Corellian cruiser)
  • Vigil (looks like a cross between an MC30, Munificent-class, and something else)
  • Finalizer - Resurgent-class battlecruiser (also from TFA)
  • Fulminatrix - Mandator IV class Siege Dreadnought
  • Supremacy - Mega Class Star Destroyer

It's killing me not to click on the spoiler thread....I MUST KNOW!!!!

That's probably all of them, except some shuttles and the like.

Must wait until Saturday night. Must wait until Saturday night.

I only need to wait 23 hours but man it’s difficult not to go over to the dark side and view some spoilers.

I am seeing it in about 5 hours. For those who have seen it: what is your ranking on all the Star Wars movies now?

Well, this will spark some good controversy and confuse some:

1-Rogue One

2-Revenge of the Sith

3-The Force Awakens

4-Empire Strikes Back

5-Return of the Jedi

6-A New Hope

7-The Phantom Menace

8-Attack of the clones

5,6,7 are really close together in my opinion. Only one I dislike a bit is Attack of the Clones is because of the Ani&Padme scenes, they are cringy... although Battle of Geonosis and all the Kamino and clones stuff makes up for it a bit

Edit: BRILLIANT I missed key part of the wording as usual (“For those who have seen it”) oops

Hard to quantify, because it has some that is very good and some that's very, very bad.

The real tragedy of AotC is apparent if you have the Blu-ray or DVDs of it, and check out the 'special features'. There are a ton of Anakin and Padme scenes that they cut which worked a LOT better at showing a relationship starting out than what made it to film.

(AotC is one of the worst of the movies for that, in that you have that terribly bad slapstick stuff with R2-D2 and C-3P0 at the droid foundry taking up so much time, but then actually necessary material regarding Anakin and Padme that they scripted and filmed but then cut. Mind-boggling! And annoying, given that with only very slightly better editing you'd have ended up with a noticeably better film.)

Yes!!! I think the scene with Padme’s family would have worked much better in the final cut than them just jumping around in the grass with weird giggles going on

Very, very bad eh? That doesn't bode well.

That and a bunch of others. Basically everything from 4-min on, here...

Wayyyyyyy more useful to the story than droid heads being swapped around.

The theater nearest to me opened the doors for the first showing at 7pm about 15 minutes ago. It's almost full in here. Everyone is excited. I really hope the film has been dedicated to Carrie Fisher.
