Star Wars The Last Jedi [Spoiler FREE Thread]

By Forresto, in Star Wars: Armada

Getting ready to see it tomorrow, but my current ranking is:

1. Empire Strikes Back

2. Revenge of the Sith (fite me)

3. RO

4. A New Hope

5. The Force Awakens

6. Return of the Jedi

7. The Phantom Menace

8. Attack of the Clones

Also, is the mobile site really laggy for anyone else when you type?

My list is al ost exactly the same but with phantom menace at the bottom

The Phantom Menace would have been a great film if instead of being the start of the prequels it was a stand-alone Obi-Wan Kenobi origin story.

As a stand-alone film, TPM is actually a great kids-focused Star Wars film. It was the need to tie it into the rest of the series that hurt it the most. If the story began and ended with a pair of knights rescuing a local outcast, a princess and slave and turning all three into heroes we'd have a truly great fantasy adventure on our hands.

Now Attack of the Clones is a disgusting mess of a film, starring a cast of unlikable actors as unlikable characters in a fake world where wooden characters express emotions that they clearly don't feel.

Taste is varied.

I'd rather watch Revenge again that Last Jedi.

I enjoyed last jedi, I’m going to see it at least one more time in theaters but really conflicted on how much I liked it.

After one viewing almost 24 hours ago...

  1. Rogue One (quite possibly my favorite film of all time) 10+/10
  2. Empire Strikes Back 10/10
  3. Star Wars 10/10
  4. Return of the Jedi 9/10
  5. The Force Awakens 9/10
  6. The Phantom Menace (I know, I know, but I liked this film) 8/10
  7. The Last Jedi 7.5/10
  8. Revenge of the Sith 7/10
  9. Attack of the Clones 5/10

Without soiling anything, I can say I feel confident that all of the previewed ships (excepting the supersized one of course) could be readily added to Armada with minimal difficulty. Nothing about the scale in the film makes them feel drastically bigger than anything else we've seen before.

The Mandator in particular simply never really sells its 8km length. It's big, not supersized.

It looked to be more than 2x the length of Resurgents, and we already knew how long Resurgents are.

That said, besides the MC85 Raddus (which is even longer than a Resurgent) the Nebulon C, Bunkerbuster, and Cargo Frigate are all much easier to add in.

About the same for me. I liked it, but was a bit conflicted. I felt maybe like it had the potential to be truly best, but squandered that opportunity.

Saw it yester morn. I can’t rank these films as finely as others, so my sustem goes: OT is the tops, prequels way on the bottom, new stuff between but towards the good end of the spectrum.

I thought The Last Jedi was very good. Uneven, though.

If you break it up into three main story lines, the good story is really excellent. The high points are as good (to me) as the best stuff in the other films, and on a whole is better than most of the other Star Wars films. But the second storyline, while it has some great moments, could have been better overall. The third storyline has characters that we like but just manages to not be bad. Cutting between these means that the weaker 2/3 suffer by comparison to the great 1/3.

I thought it averaged out to be better than TFA.
