The big Delderaan adventure challenge

By penpenpen, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I love wookieepedia. Sure, you might want to be a bit selective, but as an RPG setting resource it's pretty much unparalleled. So, I was browsing it the other day, looking for some flavor to add to a PC background piece and came across Delderaan.

Quote

Delderaan was an ancient planet inhabited by a tribal species. Members of the northern tribes of this species were known to weave yarn.

Yarnweaving you say? Oh great Wookieepedia, tell me more about this exciting species, awe-inspiringly named "Unidentified Delderaan species"!

Quote
This sentient species was native to the planet Delderaan. Primitive artists from the northern tribe of this people wove together multicolored balls of yarn. The appearance of the gas giant Yavin Prime was once described as resembling a ball of yarn that was thrown into the sky.

Oh my sweet Force, they're worshipping balls of yarn! I don't know what else you could possibly need to inspire an epic campaign, so I giving it over to you, dear forumites, to give me your best pitch for an epic Delderaan yarnweaving campaign!

And remember, just because it's in EotE forum doesn't preclude AoR och FaD concepts. Does the yarnweaving hide ancient force mysteries, or is the empire out to harness the power of the yarn for their latest superweapon?

You tell me!

The rebels at Hoth need knitted yarn socks and sweaters. Because that place is cold as all Hel and a nice pair of super socks and a decent sweater is going to help against that.

The knitmasters have the ability to manipulate several different knitting needles at once without having to touch any of the needles with their hands. They claim to have been blessed with this ability by listening to the yarn of the cosmos. Why don't you have a seat and listen for a while?

Why would the empire search balls of yarn for hidden packets of spice in the middle of the ball? It's the perfect ruse for your drug smuggling operation, and as a nice side note you can make a decent profit from selling the colourful yarn.

The plants they spin into yarn, the Delderaan Wool Trees which they harvest by climbing to the tops and shearing like sheep. These trees have a rudimentary conscious that a force sensitive pc would feel.

These have begun to die and a ithorian xenobotanist has contracted you to investigate why as it would probably mean the slow extinction of the natives if the lost the Wool Trees.

You find that indeed they are dying but its from a crashed ship that is leaking toxins into the ground water its far away from any encampment.

Depending on the time period it could be imperial or old republic. Something big and old that's been grown over for years.

The natives know it as haunted so they stay away.

If its republic its a jedi, of its empire its an inquisitor, they have been trapped in the ship for years and the power has mostly gone out. But they've used up the rations and resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. So its a bloody mess of carnage inside.

You have to find a way to open the blast doors which have sealed the ship up like tomb. It was hit by a massive ion blasts which is a reason it crashed and is sealed.

Inside random parts of the computers are working. A few run ins with dangerous droids and some scary scenes should be added like finding a whole platoon of troopers froozen like racks of beef.

You have to battle the dark side user and remove the toxic substances.

If the players wear any of the yarn material it will act like they have the basic supress force power against dark side pips.

If any pc realizes yes, the could make a web to trap the evil force force user and it would act like supress with some upgrades.
