With 5 of the last ten ships being dramatically larger than their bases, how are we supposed to physically place ships near each-other on the board? consider a Silencer and Decimator vs a VCX100, Havoc, and ARC170... you cant even play with the models on their bases at close range. I've already modded my skurgg to a large base, but this is getting kindof absurd
Why is Tie-Silencer a small base ship?
Because they wanted maneuverability, and a large base does not convey that. Also, PTL/AS with boost-barrel roll on a large base would be ridiculous.
What an interesting and original question!
The ship really in itself is a starfighter, something more akin to small base ships.
Granted there have been several ships that can blur this line but the Silencer feels more right as a starfighter.
Also my friend for your second question, pegs. Use several if you want to bring it up higher. When I fly double Arcs I use one peg for the 3rd ship, 2 pegs for Braylen, and 3 for Norra cause she is special like that.
Trust me. You dont want hte silencer on a large base. The amount of QQ that would create is ridiculous.
Because as technology advanced in the Star Wars universe, they made fighters bigger while keeping them just as maneuverable. In theory to put more advanced sensors and more advanced weapons aboard.
thats just my guess lol. As far as FFG is concerned it is because the scale Disney gave them makes it big but it moves like a coked up chicken with its head cut off while also being on a rocket.
Edited by MackaywarriorAlso because FFG opted to not create a medium-sized base back when they came out with ships that were too big for a small base but not really big enough to justify a large base, like the (scum) Aggressor, K-Wing, TIE Punisher, ARC-170, U-Wing, Scurrg, and now they feel like it’s too late to change things.
Gameplay, If the ship was on a large base it would be pretty crap.

How does that work?
Cause there is no medium base.

Badly at an event I'd wager.
But as others have said, the way large base ships move is different, they're not as agile, and even from just the trailers we can see the silencer moves with an agility far closer to an A wing or Interceptor than say the falcon. Base size is a part of balancing the ship, and this is balanced around moving on a small base.
Use more pegs.
Adding a third, fourth or fifth peg to the ships really help with placing
Cause no medium bases for Scurrg, K nor Arcs.
Also, FFG completely lost it and gave it the best dial in the game and ridiculous upgrade slots combination to buff the Empire after they've messed up with the Scum power level last couple waves.

How about getting more pegs and raising or lowering ships when needed? That's what I do when I use double Decis vs triple ARCs.

It's smallbig. Like the flying cockroaches of Florida and the Southeast known as Waterbugs. Smallbig - like overall it's small: you can hold it in your hand. But big, like whoah.
Long story short; FFG hates everyone and everything so they decided to use up a load of cardboard that WOULD have been used for Yavin System Open tickets on the cardboard for the Silencer boxes. Now everyone gets to complain about 2 things instead of being happy. Also; the mouse did it.

It sounds like you're mocking a religion which many people believe in very strongly. ![]()

Remember the time I got a salmon helmet from Muhammad whilst wearing a toga?

The tickets I got were not even MADE OF CARDBOARD. They aren't even made of MATTER!
What a rip off man (!)
Because making a fighter ship large base totally worked for the ig88 ship
Because people got SUPER PISSED the Uwing was large base
Unless this ship had like a 5pt price cut to compensate for Blackout's ability being almost impossible to get off and all pilots having a severe bumping issue, it would be DOA as a large base.
This is another ship that should have been a medium base.

And all that empty physical space your tickets used that COULD have been for more virtual tickets? Used in the empty space in the Silencer box.
The silencer is full of 1s and 0s now? I must have lost mine I DEMAND A REFUND
Well, to be fair, most models stick out over their base edges. That's just what happens when you fix a ship to a square base.
Also, your gameplay with it on a large base would devolve into False Parking Simulator for low PS and the Jackass Demolition Derby for Kylo.
Man, people are silly
Medium bases wouldn't solve anything. Bases have obvious and significant gameplay consequences. You change the base size, you change the way the ship flies
End of story
