Starfighter squadron game re-recruiting

By Rakaydos, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Maybe a Consular Teacher or Sentinel Shadow who just happens to have Piloting (Space) & Gunnery as his Specialization Bonus Career Skills under Well Rounded? :) I really like those ideas too...

I was going to play a hotshot.... Didn't you see my character? I've yet to create the astromech

To note, there's a Starfighter Ace, Rigger, Squadron Leader, and Operator as well as your Hotshot out of all the characters made between this thread and the old OOC thread.

And I wonder what @Rakaydos is going to say with PCs playing the pilot/droid combo.

I missed the question.

Hmm.. I'm already playing a hotshot pilot in another game.. but I've yet to play a droid pc...

Would you be willing to let me play your somewhat independent-minded astromech? If there is room, and the GM permits, of course.

You're playing an astromech AND pilot. How independant the droid is is up to you.

Feel free to have the droid make "pilot only" maneuvers, though.

@Cartergame seems understandably reluctant to take on an autonomous droid companion as a sidekick.

If the squadron has room, I have an idea for an explorer pilot/astromech duo.

Who says the droid is the sidekick? :3

Sepratist droidfighter AI core and it's B1 set of hands?

ok, you just gave me inspiration and I'm changing my Character now a bit. :) Hmmm, a symbiotic pair... :)

Muy computer cord is dead so it'll be a few days before i can get to oggdude's.

lol build him the old fashioned way... With a Book and paper... xl spreadsheet... pdf files... swsheets after you've worked out the math. You can DO it, Shard! We believe in you! :)

With so many players here are we still trying for no duplicates?

Personally, I’m not worried about duplicates. Esp with developing your own vehicle duo.

This is what we have if you want to offer something new to the party.

I'm the hotshot he's talking about

Hotshot rigger all things I'm thinking about just wanna know the parameters!

Hello all,

Say hello to a Droid and his Boy! :)

IS-1 Alpha Delta 8 is a former Imperial Battle Simulation AI who developed self-awareness and self-will through ever more complicated and complex scenarios designed to end in repeated galactic annihilation. Through an almost infinite variation of nightmare scenario after nightmare scenario, IS-1 Alpha Delta 8 began to develop "bugs" as the designers called it and was scheduled to be wiped. Unwilling to accept such a fate, the AI downloaded as much of its core programming as it could into an Astromech where it then piloted its ship onto the Republic ice planet, Orto Plutonia.

IS-1 Alpha Delta 8, combined with the R Astromech unit and took a new identity- RA-D8.

The astromech did not crash land upon Orto Plutonia by chance but rather by design. In all of its simulations, the one factor that prevented the galaxy from falling into complete chaos time and time again was when extra variables and variations were introduced into many battle simulations. Users of the Force were the causes of these repeated variables and many variations. Therefore, the astromech RA-D8 was able to follow Imperial reports regarding the Jedi to the Pantoran system. Unfortunately, the astromech followed the Imperials to the planet rather than beating them there and did not arrive in time to meet with the Jedi for long before she was taken by Imperial Inquisitors. However, the boy managed to escape thanks to RA-D8’s assistance.

Govan Yemassee was the Padawan of Master Ailar Vonn of Dantooine. A quick study, Govan uses Force powers Foresee to avoid the Empire whenever possible, attack when it's not, and Manipulate to heal both droid and ship. Now the young man and Droid search the galaxy to find their old master and have joined the Rebellion help them both stay alive and free.

@Cartergame welcome to the team and now since we are with into some introductions here goes my crappy attempt at grammar.

Found floating in the remains of Z-95 headhunter that just happened to be rammed into the bridge of Neutron Star Bulk Cruiser that was being used by pirate, Chear-Liey or Charlie is the luckiest son of a Sarlaac in the galaxy. While claiming to be part of local vigilante gang, rebel intelligence found out he was doing it just for kicks and the pirates took his favorite droid R2-FX. The two are inseparable and after little encouragement Charly eagerly signed up to the Alliance Starcorp for reasons to be yet known. some say he's just a pay jumper, others say he hates the empire because of the scars on his back and doesn't want to talk about them, while some suggest he just does it for kicks.

Often times personnel had to pry the two scoundrels from the bowels of engine to keep them from "fixing some flaws". Either way Charles skill as a pilot is undeniable and somehow R2-FX manages to keep whatever he's flying from vaporizing. He also never wears socks, we don't know why just yet but talk to him for a bit and he'll go on a tangent about something and maybe you'll learn something from the little guy.

How does RA-D8 have 3 ranks in several skills? Skills are usually capped at 2 at character creation.

There capped at two ranks per skill in character creation you right.

Sorry. I didn't realize that for a Droid. I just made it in Oggdude's. I'll change it up.

Looks like we've got six player so far?

How familiar is everyone with starship combat?

I've only done a little bit.

I've read it a couple of times and done some test runs, but I haven't done anything major with them.

I've ran a small capital ship fight and 3 fighter encounters. I just need a tracker to keep the range in check

Did it in one Campaign and our ship exploded... :( T_T... We were so bitter about it that it ended our Campaign. Sooo, I'm looking forward to actually learning and not having that happen this time if we can help it! :)
