Today, December 7th, we celebrate the VERY FIRST annual GUNBOAT DAY!

For my celebration, I already ate an awesome burrito and later on today my plan is to get down to the gamestore and pick up muh GUNBOAT! Sadly I have to work on GUNBOAT DAY, but later on I will probably look up some YouTube vids of actual historic footage of GUNBOATS in action and educate my children of their significance.

Don't forget to wish everyone you see a Happy GUNBOAT Day! Even my coworker (who doesn't play X-Wing) just wished me a Happy GUNBOAT Day.

EDIT: I know that today is Pearl Harbor Day and this thread is DEFINITLY not intended to make light of that fact in any way. Nor is it to minimalize the suffering of WW2 soldiers or families nor dishonor them or their sacrifice at all. I'm just having fun about a new toy, that's all.

i'm mad, my flgs ran out before i got off work.

I'm going to head to the other store across town after work today to see if they maybe have some. Xwing isnt as popular over there since they have a habit of not announcing events until the last minute so people tend to avoid them lol

About half of the waves we had access to a day early. Our weekly xwing nights are wednesday, releases are thursday, so they let us buy it early if they get it. Reason we do wednesday is because its the best day to get the max people there due to schedules.

Yeah got the call yesterday that my 2 pre-ordered gunboats are ready to pick up today at my local store. A bit excited. I had them set aside a Phantom II at the last minute also. I don't really want the Phantom II ship, but I want pretty much every upgrade card in that pack.

This afternoon I'll go to my FLGS and hope they didn't drop the ball on my preorder. Again. I had lunch with a friend today and we spent the whole time discussing GUNBOAT builds - he is now convinced that Oicunn/Nu/Nu is going to be a real thing (Kylo + Manglers)!

And nice catch by the way. The fact that it's also Pearl Harbor Day means that there's a lot of things that should be said but will sound kind of wrong today

I preordered 2 from my FLGS (with store rewards credit even) and was SUPER EXCITED when they called saying they had my order in. Even better was that I got out of class like 30 min early today so I could get them!

No, it isn't happy. Events have conspired against my finances and prevented me from acquiring any of the new ships.

I'm trying to sell some old gaming books and some old warhammer(40k) and battlefleet gothic stuff. Can't sell any old x-wing ships, as I only ever buy one of any sku, so becomes a robbing peter to pay paul situation.

All I can hope is I don't see too many of the new ships at the tourney saturday.
