The Essential Guide was leaked last night, and included information and pictures on the Resistance and FO Fleets. I'll post pictures when I'm sure there's nothing spoilery in the ship descriptions, but until now, settle for some names, please.

Resistance:

The Anodyne - Nebulon-C

The Ninaka - Corellian make, no other ship info

The Vigil - A weird hybrid between a Neb-b and a GR75

The Finalizer - we already knew this one

The Fulminatrix - Mandator IV class Dreadnought

FO first.

1. Huh, a bigger star desroyer. How original. And what a name Mega star destroyer. It like two five year olds arguing. “ I have a super star destroyer!”

”Oh yeah? Well I have a... a... a MEGA star destroyer, yeah! And its bigger”

and seriously, its like 2 conjoined star destroyers.

the Finalizer is basically the same but less stupid looking, and much less stupid sounding.

the Fulminatrix is basically an anemic, male Interdictor.

for the resistance, their ships are: fat home one, messed up mc30 and deformed nebulon.

just my two cents.

Ninaka looks like an evolution of the CR90. Vigil looks like en evolution of the Neb B.

The Raddus seems a little large for Armada, but if they introduced a super large ship category, it might work.

I didn't like the Finalizer until I read about the Supremacy.

I like the resistance ships for the most part.

I like the 'improvised armor' defending the side arc of Anodyne . Now we just need some non-improvised armor defending BOTH side arcs for the Neb

Vigil looks fun - kinda makes me hope to get an armed flotilla that still has the support slot.

'Heavy ordinance' pods sound good on the Ninka too.

Lots of resistance stuff would do nicely in this game!

Now if only the FO stuff was in any way importable.

The Ninaka looked more saucer like in the trailer. Of course you couldn’t get a very clear look at it.

Honestly though, I like the design of all the resistance ships.

The visual aesthetics of the resistance ships as well as the Finalizer still fit well into the previous episodes' ship designs. The othe two FO ships only fit because of the silly imperial notion that if it doesn't work as planned, just make it bigger. Mixed bag. Sadly, I don't think you could realistically intermingle the two eras because of scale. Power creep wouldn't really be a big deal, just increase point values accordingly on 3rd trilogy ships. I will probably enjoy the space battles in the movie but won't miss these ships in Armada.

Huh... Really the only thing that doesn't scream Star Wars to me is the Supremacy. The Fulminatrix and the Finalizer are triangles of death. I find it interesting that they have numerous designs for them (instead of all of the ISDs being the same), but I kinda dig it. Especially when the ships are at that scale, you would expect individuality in each one based off of lessons learned and purpose built design. It also leads me to believe that they're not mass produced, but I have a feeling that EP8 is going to show that the FO has a huge fleet - perhaps these are just the flag ships, and there's an ISD equivalent that hasn't been spoiled yet. The Resistance stuff looks uninspired, but definitely Star Wars. To be fair, the X Wing and A Wing that we've seen thus far from the Resistance are also uninspired. As others have already said, it looks like Disney has just slapped a few horizontal modifications onto existing designs and called it a day. My concern/complaint with that is that it doesn't make a lot of sense from an in-universe point of view. They've made these ships much wider without adding much content to them. It's a bad ratio of footprint/space... For example, how does one dock with the CR-90 replacement? The current CR-90 can get right up next to the docking tunnel because it was the widest part of the ship. Now it needs to be a couple dozen feet away - which means the tunnel needs to be that much longer. Which means it can't dock with as many ships/stations unless they have a super extension docking tunnel. It also restricts the type of ships it can dock with. We see A wings docking with CR-90s in Rebels... No problem with this new ships since they're so small. But we also see the Ghost docking with CR-90s... That's not possible with this new design. As for the Supremancy... all I can say is na na na na na na na na BATMAN!

I'd argue that the Ninka has that fore part of the ship just added on to it which might otherwise not be on the stock model at all.

Based off the visual dictionary apparently stating that all of the T-85 X-wings being destroyed in the Starkiller attack it really seems that they REALLY want the Resistance to be the underdogs in this fight despite that the First Order is obviously way weaker than the Empire at its height, they just made their ships bigger is all.

Considering that it looks like TLJ is going to be a 'remake' of ESB, it has air speeders attacking walkers, a former Jedi training the next generation, a casino planet that might end up being a Bespin expy or the like, and is trying to play up being darker than TFA, I'd be willing to bet that is where they are going with it. Please, LFL/Disney prove me wrong (both with this film and the next), I don't want to see rehashed films, I want to see something new that isn't just a new paint job. Hopefully the stand alone trilogy will be good at least.

If you watch some of the TV spots, it really looks like this is going in a different way than ESB.

I haven't been watching that much TV lately, so I hope you are right. I already have my tickets to the film and am excited to an extent but I'd love to walk out of the theater feeling how I did after Rogue One.

I really like those Rebel ships. They will definitely fit right in next to any existing Rebel fleet from the flotillas all the way up to the Raddus . If FFG is really insistent on scaling, the Raddus would be a great Rebel counterpart to an SSD.

I'm not a big fan of the Mandator-class, but that's more just because the uninspiring visual design. Honestly, just putting the cannons on top would have been a far better and more dynamic decision. That said, it's not so awful that I couldn't enjoy it with the right model and rules.

The Finalizer is great. Lots of dynamic design elements, and it simultaneously hearkens back to that first ISD while looking very different by comparison (and not just the size). The Finalizer would be an awesome addition to Armada with a sliding scale.

Until I see an original ISD and the Finalizer or Mandator side-by-side with a clear size difference, there's no good reason to not just employ the sliding scale to the freaking max with both of these ships. These aren't Super Star Destroyers, no harm is done by putting both on the tabletop.
