Ummmm...it is, though? (Some spoilers there, I guess - leaked shot from one of the TLJ books coming out)

ARE YOU SERIOUS, STORY GROUP?

EVERY T-85 IS GONE

AND THE RESISTANCE HAD A GROUND BASE

BUT THEY DIDN'T AT ALL NEED ONE BECAUSE THEY HAD THEIR OWN FUNCTIONALLY-COULD-HAVE-BEEN-A-BATTLESTAR!?

OH YEAH LET'S NOT USE OUR SHIP AS A BASE FOR HIT AND RUN TACTICS

Well I'm done giving the story group credit.

You assume FFG has inside info when developing their ships.

Don't.

Counterpoint: The U-Wing. FFGs version of the ship has the forward door that disappeared later in filming, so clearly it was built based on early concept art. Also, given the lag time for art and model manufacturing, they clearly have access to the basic designs of ships at least some period of time in advance of the general public. Obviously things change, and they don't have all the details, but the possibility that they might have a secret TLJ ship ready to go at short notice once the film is released is non-trivial.

Wait...you mean Sabine is Jarjar?

Of course they have a secret ship. I mean, they did this before.

Well, I mean...the box on the page does specifically explain their reasoning.

The Resistance was afraid of having all their assets destroyed in a single attack, so as a matter of policy never grouped all their forces together.

IE., they probably had a lot of ground bases with forces hidden away at them.

(Not saying it's a great idea, but there ya go)

I still think it's dumb. I just... I mean I get not putting all your resources in one place..? But they have to leave a lot behind at Da'qar. Be a lot better if they didn't have to do that in the first place.
