Thanks for the help! Here is my first ever repaint: Genesis Red.
Paints:
I don't remember the steps, but will update with the colors.
My Gunboat:
Colors:
Mephiston Red (3 coats)
The green on the guns is all wrong, please ignore.
That red kills me. I can't paint it. Feel my envy.
Cloaking Phantom:
I don't remember the paints I used for this one. Sorry!
So cloaked it infiltrates in Gunship thread.
Fang. I wrote Protectorate on the left wing in yellow pencil, but it doesn't show up well.
Paints:
1.) Full basecoat of Celestia Gray. (however many layers are needed to cover the original paint. I needed 4)
2.) All three shades of blue were Citadel's The Fang mixed with different amounts of Vallejo Model Color White Primer.
3.) Citadel Eshin Gray for the engines.
4.) Nuln Oil the **** out of everything.
5.) Abbadon Black on the canopy glass
6.) Nuln Oil Gloss on the canopy glass.
7.) Vallejo Model Color White Primer for the cockpit frame.

Added replication steps.
Black Sun StarViper:
I touched up the really odd looking chipped paint on the black panels, and folded the wings back. It looks a lot more menacing this way ( I couldn't take the space-crab seriously) and was easy to do.
Steps:
1.) Place the Viper in the Freezer for ~40 minutes.
2.) Remove from freezer and gently bend the top wings back to the desired angle, repeat with the bottom. (when I did this I snapped the plastic somewhat)
3.) Apply a small amount of super glue (I used the red bottled Locktight) to the area where the wings snapped. Let this dry.
4.) Using a Citadel medium layer brush, touch up the black panels with Abbadon Black.
BONUS: Cry because it doesn't fit in the StarViper Micro Hanger anymore.
Here is my Silencer. All I did was drybrush it to make the details visible, and add the taillights.
Paints:
1.) Citadel Longbeard Grey with a small drybrush.
2.) Citadel Mephiston Red with a small layer brush.
3.) Vallejo Model Color White with a small layer brush.
I had to scrape off some of the grey where it was too thick with a dental scraper.
(I have recently used a can of compressed air to blast off the gray flakes, it looks much better.)
Edited by IAmRhynHeyo. I wanted to share a bit of a preview of what I'm currently working on. I'm really pleased with how this one is turning out.
Update: Here is my shuttle, I'm open to suggestions on what do do next. I think adding dark gray panels behind the orange on the top wing (to mimic the gunboats) is the way to go. I also need to redo the cockpit glass with a gradient from black to red.
Is that accent color salmon or is it a trick of the camera/lighting?
Looks great!

It's P3 Khardic Flesh. I'd say it's a subtle orange. It looks pink in some light, and brown in others.
So Poe flies a shuttle now.

Nah, Sabine.
Last night's project, inspired by @Ghosthacked :
Paints:
Part 1: The Body
1.) Vallejo Surface Primer Grey (only about a million layers. O_o)
2.) Citadel Thousand Sons Blue (3 thin layers)
3.) Citadel Eshin Grey (3 thin layers)
4.) Citadel Nuln Oil (1 layer)
Part 2: The cockpit glass
5.) Citadel Abbadon Black (1 layer on the canopy glass)
6.) Citadel Nuln Oil Gloss (1 layer on the canopy glass)
Part 3: The engine glow
7.) Citadel Screamer Pink (one layer inside and on the rim of each engine)
8.) Vallejo White Primer (add two drops into the Screamer Pink and mix. Then dot a dollop into the center of each engine)
9.) Repeat step 8 with a smaller dot of paint in the engine.
NICE BWing. LOL.
Hey so i notice that some of your ships look a lot cleaner and the paint looks a lot smoother than others. Is there a difference in how you're applying it?

Probably. I think it has to do with how thin the paints are. And the price of oranges in Miami. And the gravitational influence of Mars. In short, I have no clue.
Mars always was a bit of a ****
My recent X-wing work. Finally found inspiration for the Jumpmaster. Enjoy!
