Bullseye Firing Arc is a range-ruler wide (With Photo)

By sirjorj, in X-Wing

My preorder arrived today!

I've heard a lot of debate about this on the podcasts so i thought I'd put it to rest.

Is the range ruler the same width as the maoneuvering templates? I've had custom ones for so long (which are different width) that I don't remember...

Boost and Barrel Rolls will easily be able to get out of Bullseye. VI Torani looks like a must.

Not quite, range ruler is thinner.

no.

Maneuver templates are a bit wider.

I knew I was right about this .. nice

This is done so people can’t just put in a straight maneuver to check the bulls eye Arc while also checking if they clear their next maneuver. You can still do it somewhat if you know your range ruler to template lengths like when people check for target locks.

Now I need my preorder to come in.... :(

I can see the logic in this, even though it's going to be somewhat annoying. We have a guy who can make acrylic stuff in our area. I'll ask him if he can make a "bullseye checker" with the base being the width of a movement template, but the rest being the width of a range ruler. That should help solve the issue.

He can do it where it hooks into the nubs like some of those Range 1 Templates do to mark ships and then thins out.

You shouldn't be playing with maneuvering templates that are a different width - it'll effect clipping rocks and other obstacles.

Unless you mean you have range rulers of different widths, in which case go right ahead.

Apparently some of the FFG prize templates are slightly smaller in width. Most have been citing the advantage they have over that little wiggle room between the nubs, but like you stated obstacles is another advantage those ones have.

My manoeuvering templates are all the same width. My range finder is of a different width from my manoeuvering template, but its standard. See pictures above.
