I took a list to the Omaha regionals -- played a few of the guys who've made notes here already.

Ahsoka Tano
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Gideon
3PO
Jyn w/ Smuggler's Run
Hera Syndulla
Mak Eshka'Rey
ERebel Saboteurs

SERIOUSLY!!!??? Wow. This almost brings brings me to tears. Tears of joy! :P

The game is so diverse right now. You can actually bring fun lists to tournaments and win games.

So would you not use slippery target again? I can't decide if it's that useful or not.

I absolutely love this card. My draw back is that its really only good against melee figures. With the prominence of ranged figures, its easily a card that just sits in your hand. I can live with that if a card is character specific and I lose that figure, but a card for everyone that I can't play always rubs me the wrong way.

But man it feels so good to use against Vader/Luke haha.

Ya. I'm tired of cards that are figure specific. My new CC deck has none of those. So far, I've found it handy. If it was an Imperial list, I'd have Zillo and would prefer having figure specific cards. Then I can toss them out for blocks if needed.

Omaha Sparta Games, I ran:

10 Han w RS
9 Drokkatta
5 Jyn
4 Hera
3 Gideon
3 R2-D2
2 C-3PO
2 Alliance Smuggler
2 Alliance Smuggler

I felt like the 9th activation was particularly useful with Han, essentially guaranteeing him the last activation of the first round in every game. I had Card Draw, Objective control, and a little firepower with Han/Drokkatta/Jyn backed up by Hera when they came up short.

Round 1:

I played DJ on Jabba’s New Ownership. He was a relatively new player playing a Vader/Jets/Palp list. I was able to take out Palp with 2 Han attacks in round 1. He had some jet attacks come up short on accuracy, and I was able to collect some objectives and stay away from Vader. Win 1-0

Round 2:

I played Ben @GottaBadFeelingAboutThis , on the Jawa A scenario. He was running a rebels smuggler/spy list. I remember that he had Smuggler's run on Jyn, and I let him go get those points and focused on removing some other figures. By the time Jyn came back, I had control of the board and objectives. Win 2-0

Round 3:

I played against @Brigadierblu on Jawa’s B. I left Jyn exposed, and he took two focused attacks at her with some Sentries. I dodged them both. She also later dodged an IG attack, and I was about to flip the table over on his behalf and I switched to a different white dice. anyway, I was able to take out his sentries and run some crates back with my smugglers. he had his Sentries providing a shield wall to IG, but I was able to cut through them before they could activate again. I eventually was able to wear down IG and John conceded. It was the only loss on the day for the eventual Champ. I'm 3-0 at this point, and I'm happy because dice are guaranteed. Win 3-0

Round 4: @ryanjamal has a nice write up on his day, and some of my thoughts are on his thread. Our matchup on Nal Hutta Shieldsd was basically a bloodbath. We traded figures and he ended up with a hard fought 40(+) to 39 win. Loss 3-1, but I got dice.

Knockout round 1:

I got seeded second, and had a terrible draw. @seef1033 also finished 3-1 (many byes were spent) and somehow ended up in 7th. Strength of schedule is a mystery sometimes.

Dave got the stair side of Jabba's A. He had a great plan for his two alliance smugglers and ended up with multiple crates in round 1. He baited me into taking a focused shot with Drokkatta on his Han, and then played OTL, spoiling some serious blast damage to several of his figures. After that, Drokkatta bit the dust, and Dave navigated the stairs really well so he could pop out and shoot, then retreat to safety, only presenting a smuggler or R2 for me to shoot at. We were getting close to time, and I did not have a way to come back against the objective points he had stacked up, so I conceded shortly before time was called. Loss. 3-2 on the day.

I got some dice, and had a fun day.

What were your command cards if you don’t mind sharing?

Command Deck:
◄(3) ▪ On the Lam
◄(2) ▪ Tools for the Job
◄(2) ▪ One in a Million
◄(1) ▪ Tough Luck
◄(1) ▪ Stealth Tactics
◄(1) ▪ Smuggled Supplies
◄(1) ▪ Negation
◄(1) ▪ Collateral Damage
◄(1) ▪ Brace for Impact
◄(1) ▪▪ Marksman
◄(1) ▪ Battlefield Awareness
◄(0) ▪ Toxic Dart
◄(0) ▪ Stimulants
◄(0) ▪ Element of Surprise
◄(0) ▪ Take Initiative

I brought one in a million as a specific counter to Vader groups. It's fun to run up and hair/trigger and stun him with no defense dice. Being a character specific card though, I'd usually get it when I couldn't use it. I'd likely take that out for Run for Cover. Taking a blue dice out of an attack pool to make an attack come up short is always fun. I actually had a late version with both, but then split Run for Cover into Marksman and Battlefield Awareness (had to cut officer's training). I wanted less high point value cards since I was likely to discard cards for Drokkatta's demolish.

One of my last minute changes was getting rid of Armed Escort, and adding Brace for Impact. I knew there was going to be a high caliber of player at this event, and they're just not going to waste attacks on Han/Jyn when they get yet another evade from 3PO, plus beginning of activation trigger can also make it hard to use. Brace for Impact is a lot more flexible.

So you keep 3p0 next to Han and Jyn in this list?.........sorry I’m a newer player. Only played in a few tournaments because most of my time is committed to x-wing

Yes you want to do that because the extra evade that threepio applies with his distracting ability equates to an extra damage block when combined with Han and Jyn. Standing next to 3PO with either of those units basically adds an entire Defense die to the pool that is already set to an excellent face.

Welcome! When possible, yes. Cunning is one of the things in this game that I think you can manipulate and get more value out of. I try to find a good spot to post up 3PO where Han/Jyn will have good sightlines. They get some value from their out of activation shots, so you want them where they can see but still be protected. The trick with it is to know when to break them up to go for kills/objectives. There are some groups that will be more effective in breaking up the ‘box’, so you have to have a strategy ready to split them up if that’s not working. Terro’s ability to splash weaken to a group of figures is something to worry about once Nal Hutta rotates out (or sooner). I have a lot of fun with this group.

it really is a terrible map

Swamps fine EXCEPT for being able to snipe out the other delpoyment zone on turn 1...

it would be ok if all the factions had a way to shoot long range with focused attacks, but since the Empire cannot then it's a truely unfair map, and well that Ugnaught crap doesn't help

Kirton Games in Britain has concluded! @RoyalRich or anyone else have cool lists to share?

Hey,

I ran;
[9] AT-DP
[7] Elite Jet Trooper
[2] Imperial Officer
[1] Zillo Technique
[7] Elite Jet Trooper
[10] Elite Sentry Droid
[4] Jet Trooper

-------------------

[2] Overrun
[1] Armed Escort
[1] Fuel Upgrade
[0] Fleet Footed
[0] Take Initiative
[1] Shared Experience
[0] Element of Surprise
[2] Squad Swarm
[0] Planning
[2] Call the Vanguard
[1] Negation
[0] Positioning Advantage
[3] Grenadier
[1] Concentrated Fire
[1] Collateral Damage

Went 3:1 in Swiss, made the cut (just) then went on to finish second.

Really good event as usual from the guys at Kirton.

Hey guys,

Yea Kirton was a great event as ever. Ran really well and the UK community has so many good guys that happen to be top players as well.

First of all I'm sure I'll forget some of those travelling a good distance, but a particular shout out to Alistair and Dan, Isaac, Joshua, Tris and Oliver who all travelled a fair way to get here.

We were happy to get 3 of our local players through to the top 8 from a field of 22, with myself, Dan and Matt (both regulars on the YouTube channel) all making it through.

Of those myself and Matt were defeated in the first round of elimination, with Dan going onto the final with the Atdp Jets and Droids list above, great performance from him and really chuffed he got so far.

Personally, I went 4-0 through Swiss (although myself and Tris used first round byes) with the following :

Vader (driven by hatred)

Palpatine

AT-DP

eJets

Officer

Zillo

Interestingly I think no scum in top 8 but I don't think that's a big issue, people are just trying out the new shiniest.

Top 8 pre elimination was to the best of my recollection :

Imperial (vader palp atdp) me

Rebel (double Rangers) Tris

Rebel (han and Rangers) Alistair

Rebel (han and Rangers) Matt

Rebel (han and Rangers) Isaac

Rebel (unsure, but think another Han and Rangers) Dan (London Dan)

Rebel (han and chewie) eventual winner Oliver

Imperial (atdp 2xeJets eSentry) finalist Dan (Exeter Dan!)

So Han is pretty popular right now!

Some of those might be wrong though

Vader Palp ATDP? Can i ask more about your list? It's 30 points for those activations only, that's insane

Im curious to know that full Han Chewie list- thanks for the update!

I've been playing it on my stream and at the local club for 2-3 weeks now, it's a powerful list.

YouTube.com/StarwarsStreaming if you're interested, or watch my two top table matches at Kirton Games on twitch.tv/kirtongames

Vader is played very aggressively, demanding my opponent deal with it and if they don't I get maximum value from him.

Palpatine / atdp are key as well, palp finishes things off and gives extra attacks to Vader / atdp depending on the situation.

ATDP is a great line of sight blocker and has a punchy attack, often will get 2 shots round one and 3 round 2 because of palp.

What else do you need to know about it?

3 x smuggler

Rebel high command

I'm fairly sure here... again, you can watch the semi and final on twitch/kirtongames.com and see them

Hi mate, do you have your card list to go with that? We've been seeing quite a few copies of that list downunder and I wonder if yours is any different

Cheers

Sure mate, no secret but probably nothing majorly surprising.

ATVP and the Jets (15/15/40)

===========================
[18] Darth Vader
[8] Emperor Palpatine
[7] Elite Jet Trooper
[-5] Driven by Hatred
[1] Zillo Technique
[2] Imperial Officer
[9] AT-DP

-------------------

[3] Grenadier
[3] New Orders
[2] Force Surge
[2] Overrun
[1] Collateral Damage
[1] Dark Energy
[1] Face to Face
[1] Negation
[1] Tough Luck
[0] Force Rush
[0] Planning
[0] Take Initiative
[0] Urgency
[0] Positioning Advantage
[0] Element of Surprise

New orders is fantastic with the way I use palp and the atdp as they're normally adjacent, palp activates and gets his damage and makes the atdp attack, then plays new orders to ready it again so it's likely firing 5 times in a round.

Originally I had planned to use the Rancor but Can suggested the ATDP and I've not looked back since.

Fairly last minute change was adding the Jets and losing an officer, rule by fear, and 0-0-0 which I feel was still the right choice

Glad to see Chewie not only make another Top 8, but win it all! Everyone is remembering a very important lesson.....let the Wookiee win! :D

1st place.

15 players, very competitive field including 3 of the top 4 players from worlds. This was the first list without hunters I've run at a tournament since Jabba's Realm dropped. Han is very squishy, especially against Weequays. I felt like the was the perfect time to sneak this list in while people still have Mercenary fatigue. I had some doubts about Jyn, but she was clutch in completely shutting vader down. Luke was a great beat-stick. I'll have a full write up sometime this week.

So new player here. I’m playing in a regional this weekend and am considering your list. Would you recommend that a new player use the command cards you did? I was considering adding devotion and Han and Jyns cards. Id have to get rid of a couple cards to do that. Just curious to know your thoughts.

So, the Utah regional happened over the weekend at Blackfyre games in Pleasant Grove (a wonderful establishment). There were 17 that ended up there (lower than expected, a Friday night snowstorm probably didn't help. We had a few from Idaho, Montana, Denver, Arizona.

My list was:

Chewie w/ Wookie Avenger (11)

Han w/ Rogue Smuggler (10)

Jynn (5)

Hera (4)

Gideon (3)

3p0 (2)

2 rSmugglers (4)

Balance of the Force (1)

I ended 5th after the Swiss rounds:

First round I had a bye and a lovely trip to McDonalds with Matt Richards while we discussed some pros and cons for our lists.

Round 2 I played Matt Richards after discussing the pros and cons of our lists. He was running the Vader/Palp/eJets lists on Jabba's Palace (the pick up crates side). I dropped a Smuggler into the pit, and he started tempting him with Palp, I ran another Smuggler onto the "throne area." He moved everyone but Vader by the stairs. I used Han to poke around the corner for a focused end of round shot on an eJet (which didn't one-shot him, because of a misplayed reroll on my part, it wouldn't have anyway with Zillo, but I should have made him burn the card instead of just going for the kill). He then opened the door with Vader and force choked my Smuggler. I won't go into too much detail after round 1, Chewie slammed a eJet to death then did 9 to the Emperor, Han finished the Emperor, but in the end Matt had good dice rolls, great card combos and I made one or two too many mistakes against a great player. I lost, I didn't see On the Lam, Tools for the Job or Run for Cover, to get extra beef out of my smugglers. It ended 40-26, so honestly pretty close on a map that tends to favor Vader.

My next round I played a local guy named Mark, who brought, Han, Luke, Ashoka, Care package and Chopper. We played on the Jawa Map with the stashes. Again, without going into too much detail, the crux of this game happened when he forgot about Debts Repaid and rushed to kill Hera with Luke. Chewie had activated and nearly killed Han. When he reactivated he killed Han, and did all but one damage to Luke. The start of the next round Chewie slammed Luke to death and killed Chopper, which left a fully healthy Chewie and mostly healthy Han vs. Ashoka and he conceded.

Round 4 I played Daniel from Denver. He was playing Han, Lando, Jynn Obi-Wan, and more smugglers and the full Care Package. This was on Shielded. He had initiative, and we then exchanged in a Han on Han violence in the middle. He ran up to the shield and took a focused shot on my Han, I used Brace for Impact and took 6. The focused return fire did 5 back. My Han went I then jumped in front of 3P0 and took my non-focused shot, it did 3, his return fire did 5 (it was a good shot) I had 1 health left, he had 3. End of Round his initiative allowed his shot to go first, he hit, I didn't dodge, but I pulled On the Lam and slid up into the little cave area and took my shot back. He dodged. I then got initiative and played Element of Surprise to finish on his Han. So, 5 shots for my Han, 4 shots for his later I was up. Again, without all the details the biggest part was a focused Chewie, who shot Obi-Wan for 7 (leaving him with 3 health) I figured I would take a chance on a Slam, and I got the last 3 on the slam to kill Obi. After that a full health Chewie, and Jynn cleaned up Lando and picked up the points for the win.

In the top-8 cut I played IG on Raining Freight and Devious Scheme hurt along with him drawing On the Lam, Heightened Reflexes, Blaze of Glory, Take Initiative AND being able to sell Assassinate from Black market. While I say nothing that I needed. I'm quite bitter about this game and I won't say much other than I lost by a good amount.

All said and done, Chewie is awesome. He only died the one time vs. Vader when I totally whiffed one and Vader re-rolled into the red dice surge when I rolled 4 blocks. I know that he isn't a perfect character, but Han and Chewie is viable and if things played out differently with the tournament a different player playing him should have been in the finals.

All in all the top-8 was: 2 Vader-Palp, 2 Han-Chewie, 1 Han/Lando, 1 Rebel Smuggler box w/ Ashoka, 1 IG, and 1 AT-DP w/ palp list.
