I've played the game for a while now, usually lists with 25+ health. Well, I bought some of those pain in the butt imp ships and when I played them I felt... Powerful.

Let me know what you think. This is one of my first attempts at an imp list.

Also, was wondering if Advanced Optics would be better on QD?

I’ve run similar with Sabacc and Vessery. It’s a cool concept.

A couple of thoughts -

You have a 2 point bid and ships at ps 5,5 and 11. There might be edge cases where you want a bid over other imperials but overall i think you'd be better just spending the points

With that in mind, I'd upgrade cruise missiles to harpoons. Personally I prefer vessery over ryad, particularly in a fire control QD list as you'll be getting that free target lock more often than not, for the EPT I like Juke. I generally have a preference for the x/7 title but I wonder if in the coming meta /d might come in useful to threaten those gunboats with a tractor beam before they get a chance to shoot?

I'm not that familiar with tie strikers as I never use them, but my feeling is that pure sabaac might be a better option here? He gives your opponent a tough choice to make at the start of the game so can take some of the heat off QD.

If you really want a Tie Striker, i would go for Sabaac as well. But for 26 points, get Omega Leader in there :-)

Ryad vs Vessery is really a question of your skill lvl and maybe a bit of personnal preference. Most player prefer Vessery because he can get 2 action/round most of the time (TL + X) without any stress. Ryad is less predictable than Vessery, has more options for her 2nd action (with PTL) but at the cost of a stress token. Shes also lower PS by 1 pts but its not that big of a deal since they are both mid ps.

How's Stealth Device working out? My gut says I'd rather have Light Weight Frame or Hull Upgrade on Countdown. I think they'd add more toughness over time. However, maybe the tempting idea of popping off a Stealth Device is what it takes to make Countdown an early-game target. Pure Sabacc is also in general a strong ship. Toss on Crack Shot, since PS isn't likely to live too long, and it's better burst damage than many Elite upgrades.

I'll also second Vessery. Juke Vessery is 35 points, Outmaneuver Vessery is 36, same as that Countess. Intensity Vessery at 35 also feels nice. With a Defender usually being predictable, having Intensity for Barrel Rolls makes a big difference in leveraging your dial. Since other ships are probably bigger targets, your Evade token often won't be as needed. That said, never pass up spending a token for it's traditional role in order to flip Intensity. The barrel rolls are nice, but you get so many tokens over time that one will probably go unspent before too long.

Advanced Optics might be strong on Quickdraw. It's a slightly-worse Rey, but crew Rey is awesome. It's worth considering, at least.

*edit* Just remembering that this is also a Cruise Missiles QD. AdvO will allow QD to bank a focus, and then TL for double-mods. Seems worthwhile. Without a missile, it's probably still good, but with one... oooh.

My version, all just musings and thoughts:

“Quickdraw” (39)

Special Forces TIE (29), Veteran Instincts (1), Fire-Control System (2), Cruise Missiles (3), Pattern Analyzer (or Advanced Optics) (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

Colonel Vessery (35)

TIE Defender (35), Intensity (2), TIE/x7 (-2)

“Pure Sabacc” (25)

TIE Striker (22), Crack Shot (1), Adaptive Ailerons (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

There's still a 1 point bid. Seems reasonable with a PS 11. It could also be traded with Crack Shot for Decoy, which would be spicy. PS 11 Sabacc shooting first...

I suggest you play this, IDK if someone else played this already but I played it since the wave 11 was released, I won a small store championship with it and had tons of fun :)

Thanks guys. Here is what I will try first but I will tinker with all ideas you gave me. Also can't wait to playtest Advanced Optics. Should make for a stronger first engagement, but for now Ill stick with PA.

I'm liking this more.

Omega Leader is a very good choice.

If flying an X7 Defender, I think PTL Ryad would be stronger. I LOVE PTL Ryad. Vessery is stronger as a TIE/D.

If I were you, I would ditch cruise misiiles for Expertise on QD. Its unbelievably strong with her ability.
