Well that's very exciting. I love some of the art they have up though it remains to be seen how much roleplaying a killing machine can have.

I suppose you could try to mesh Deathwatch with Ascension but the Marines would probably edge out the Stormtrooper in combat potential and they would have little non-combat use so maybe that's not as good an idea after all.

At least the game does not use the Warhammer Third Edition format. Anyway, I am very excited about Deathwatch and will be purchasing both the standard and collectors editions.

Really? Why two copies? A copy for other players?

August? I'd more inclined to believe early 2011, but if it does get in our grubby hands by August I'd be quite pleased.

Looks nice, but I'll hold my displeasure at the idea of the product and see if the product itself is good. Which, mind you, I do hope that it is good. I'm not going in with a negative mindset.

Both for me. You have to understand, I have a book obsession and try to keep my books in perfect condition. I bring a standard edition to the gaming table, and the CE stays in room where I can read safely. Yes, it's sad.

I am still personally skeptical of playing Space Marines. That is a whole different level of power past even what Ascension would possibly offer (though Ascension would probably even the Human/SM playing field nicely)

I see it as a world of possibilities, personally.

August, as in 'just in time for GenCon', much as Rogue Trader was. The fact that it took a couple of months for anyone who didn't go to GenCon to get their copies is another matter...
Personally, it's what I was expecting in terms of a planned release date.

I was personally hoping they'd leave it longer, meaning more people working on DH and RT, but nevermind. I'll buy it, but since I have no interest in playing a Space Marine, it's a shame I'll almost certainly never use it.

I'm much the same way. My RT collector's edition is still sealed. It's meant for having in my mind, not so much using. But that's just me... And, no, I do not have a custom copy. Mine was one of two my FLGS got a hold of. Yay them!

My glee has gone epic!

Much though I see Space Marines as low personality, brainwashed drones as far as roleplaying characters go...

...i still want it and want to play it.

As others have said, beautiful artwork, I can already imagine my character, but as other has said, it the RPing is pure blood brother boding type thing it might get boring fast, and if this game is meant to be just pure combat mechanics and quick in and out I may not buy it, but it'll be interesting none the less...Infact, forget I said I won't buy it, it's probably worth it just for the new art and to bring space marines into an Ascension RP.

Space Marines have tons of personality.

Sometimes you see their bolter personality.

Sometimes it's their flamer personality.

Sometimes you even get to see their chainsword and boltpistol personality.

But wait, there's more... Heavy bolter, Missile Launcher, heavy flamer....s'all good!

Actually, just because they have lots of cool guns, a giant of a frame and the best armor in the galaxy doesn't mean they don't think or have feelings.

Anyway, did anyone notice the description of the main book pictures a Terminator Armored Space Marine.... I'm very happy.

At the very least I reckon I'll be using this to expand Dark Heresy, in much the same way as I've used Rogue Trader. So more more fancy kit for the players, much more powerful allies & enemies in the form of Space Marines, and also a fresh list of apropriate enemies.
