Endless vigil Table 3-10 Hilt styles locator

By berserkwerewolf, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Hi everyone!
On the table 3-10 Under lightsaber construction in Endless Vigil there is a table for w/ precision style hilts like the shoto, is there anywhere that I can find the dagger and the lightfoil? Help much appreciated!

Apart from Endless Vigil in the afore-mentioned chart, those types of hilts don't have stats as of yet. Those are given just as examples of a precision-style hilt.

This means as well that lightfoils can be build with the precision hilt. Similar how the blaster rifle covers plenty of different models. You as a player are free to build a light foil, dagger or shoto when building a precision style hilt for your lightsaber. That's the reason those hilt style examples are given. All those have the same stats for the hilt.

I know that some (I am for one) are looking forward to a tapani sector book...(PLEASE!!!!). Hopefully it'll include stats for a lightfoil beyond what was included there in endless vigil. At least lightfoils have some semblance of cannon now... at least in FaD.

Going by EU they were... ignored?... by the Empire so likely aren't restricted.

Tolerated by the empire when used by nobles does not mean unrestricted, but just mostly ignored. And iirc the EU had the tradition later even persecuted and the scene went underground iirc. Besides, the whole concept requires the use of training emitters anyway. :D

Speaking of interpreting the standard templates as different things, does anyone have an idea for what could be a reasonable interpretation for the defensive lightsaber template that isn't the god awful suicide machine that is the guard shoto`?

Yes - off hand parrying saber

In actual lore, I can't remember one, but in practise?
Add a simple small guard to the thing?
It's just defensive 1.

Crossguard lightsabers are their own thing and they are in their own ways a little silly with their triple emitting "blades", but I don't see a problem with adding a guard made out of lightsaber resistant material. If you want to get really funny you might add an unrefined cortosis guard, allowing on a despair to deactivate the enemy lightsaber until after the attacker's next turn, but that is getting offtopic. :)

Well that would work, until you craft one with enough advantages to add a crossguard to the crossguard. Then it becomes an old xzibit meme .

I guess defensive 2 could mean a more complex guard, like on a sai or Jitte? Trouble is, you can't really add much complexity to lightsaber before it starts to look stupid.

I guess maybe combining it with an energy buckler such as this:

to make something akin to this crazy thing (knuckle spikes optional)?:

Well, there is one example of a lightsaber which something similar to the tsuba (the small round guard of a katana) AND half a lightsaber crossguard ^_^

But in general I would just go with the round guard.

thanks for the info, including the extra info!
