I don’t really like either era, but 1-3 over 7-9. Just not enough material in the new stuff. The stuff we have seen is just too big.

I bemoaned your bemoaning of non original trilogy stuff up until you said "just too big" and then ya, even with the off scale of armada there are things that just aren't fieldable(sorry death star fans).

I don't mind ships from either era coming in, i can dislike the movies while still enjoying the ships themselves(and fights, the maul and anakin fights are still great).

Sure, you can see a natural flow from Republic ships to Imperial ships. So that makes sense. But you don't have that same connection between separatists and rebel forces.

There were plenty of ties between the Rebels and the CIS; there were Rebel AATs(EU), Recusants(EU), Vultures and Tri Fighters(canon), and modified Providences(canon). And at least one neimoidian privateer commanding a Trade Fed Battleship with a Rebel letter of marque(EU). They may have different ideologies, but an alliance is just practical.

As for commanders, include commanders / officers / aces with a Separatist symbol, and give the ships two symbols. If your commander is Separatist, you have a Sep fleet with Sep ships only. If your Commander is Rebel, you have a Rebel fleet with Rebel ships, which happens to include the Sep ships. Same goes for Empire and Republic. Some officers like Kalani could also be dual faction. If faction imbalance is too concerning, have only one or two new Sep / Rep only expansions added in. They could even make the Arq and the Pelta with additional ship cards, like the Chimaera.

I think he was focused on war vessels specifically, and not factions. So no Dooku, no Jar Jar, no Grievous. Just the vessels, as military surplus, reconstituted hulks, and left over hulks for out of the way bases to use.

I suppose that is a possibility. I still think it would rub some people, especially newer/younger players as combining good and bad ships into similar factions. But it's certainly doable. It would allow us to integrate the positive visual elements of the PT without getting into the other stuff.

I still think FFG is more likely to move into material from the new movies first. Although this would give you some movie screen visual ships/fighters to draw upon later once they drain Ep7-9.

Say what you like, still waiting for admiral Binks.

Please tell me this is a Photoshop joke....if not -10 to faith in humanity. Plus I would then like to buy a ticket to Mars because I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Oh Tim. I hope they keep Armada clear of films 1-3 and I'm not that enamoured with 7+. Rogue one and perhaps even the new Solo solo outing is ok.

For the life of me, I just don't get this attitude. It's as though some players just want to completely ignore the reality of several unique ship designs from the other films because they read about a random ship in a book a decade ago that never actually appeared anywhere else.

In the meantime, there are an easy half-dozen or more ships and squadrons just from the Gennedy Tartakovsky Clone Wars shorts that actually exist. And even better, they look really good next to everything else, and actually appeared in the movies.

Make sure to read the article. I couldn’t stop laughing about how Jar Jar is so important to the movies.

This is just yet another reason why I haven't and still won't get into SW Destiny.
