Wrong EPT on Quickdraw

Quickdraw. Get his ability off the board ASAP, when you are best able to deal with it.

Yup. Quickdraw. Then the list is not that bad.

Okay. Is the list decent enough or could it use some changes?

I'm leery of FCS on Upsilons. I get the appeal, but it often seems to me like they can't keep arc on things that well. Weapons Guidance + Recon Spec (or A Score to Settle on a Kylo Upsilon) seems stronger to me, but it costs more. An Upsilon doesn't fly as well as a VCX, where FCS works pretty well--the stall doesn't work as well as a 5-K, and there's no turret upgrade to help out.

I'm also hesitant about that Rho. I don't think PS 6 will be enough for it, even with the free TLs from Stridan. Meanwhile, it looks like a lot of work to use Unguided Rockets. You'll need both a focus token and a target lock, all for a mediocre 3-dice attack with single mods. I'd rather just have an Heavy Laser Cannon on a XG-1 title Starwing. Grab Long Range Scanners for an opening TL, take either Linked Batteries or Tractor Beam. I've heard good things about Lightning Reflexes on Starwings, too.

Quickdraw seems fine. Adaptability is probably pretty good, with enough PS 10s out there to make a difference, but A Score To Settle is also great on Quickdraw. It's almost like a 0-point Expertise. Not exactly, but almost. I'm not saying it's necessarily better than Adaptability, but it's worth thinking about it.

Probably not every tweak could fit in the list. Still, food for thought.

Agreed, QD first.

I'd embrace the fact that that Upsilon will be support, perhaps with Systems officer and Fleet Officer or Hux.

Downgrade the Rho to Deadeye, keep Adv. SLAM and OS-1, use UR or Harpoons/Prockets, covers wide range.

Deadeye with the OS-1 title doesn't work out very well since it doesn't allow you to shoot with the weapons disabled token if you're planning to focus every turn. With only the plasma torp, you're going to be using and spending the target lock every round, so advanced slamming into a reload still won't allow you to fire any of your missiles. Slamming into a focus would be fine, but only allows your unguided rockets which really are not that impressive. That's the issue I have trying to find a good range 1 ordnance for the star wing. You won't have many opportunities to focus without running at least 3 different missiles/torps to give yourself time to not need to reload, and 3 of the 4 that can hit range 1 require or interact with focus tokens. Any OS star wing you might as well treat as a TIE bomber and hope that you might get a good opportunity to reload once. You will probably get much more mileage and better use out of an XG build and there's a lot of good options there for you.

Otherwise in your list, QD is the threat but the other two are really non-issues and can be ignored until later.

Deadeye w/ OS-1 is great if you get a bit of action economy from wingmates.

Maybe I'm missing something there, but with OS-1 you can only shoot at the target you have target locked when you have a weapons disabled token. So deadeye would mean you want a focus and target lock and still can only shoot at the same target you have locked anyway.

Yes! You lock the guy off the first round, allowing you to fire at him whenever you need, including if you have to reload, because Fleet Officer/Hux provides the focus which Deadeye can use to fire

Why not just use harpoons or cruise missiles, which wouldn't spend your target lock anyway? Then the odd turn that you have to focus it can be used as an offensive or defensive modifier. You still have all the benefit of shooting at your target even when you reload and it doesn't require a support ship to actually get a shot off.
