That's potentially pretty powerful. Vehicles can get effectively locked down quite easily if you don't have support to get rid of the ion troopers.

which explains why the ion trooper is so restrictive for it's cost ( 8 points more than a dlt-19 with less range, and it exhausts which unless i'm mistaken requires an action to reload)

EDIT: ok, so the double arrow on force powers is indeed free actions, and i'm pretty sure exhaust needs to use an action to flip back..... @3:59 if anyone wishes to correct me, between the blurry and google translate this is rough going:ph34r:

IF right that significantly upgrades vader over luke for defense using force reflexes (vader can ready it from exhausted for free at the end of turn) whereas luke has to either use actions or rely on commands (they both want that dodge token when getting shot at for deflect so they can return damage)

You can make Biv from Imperial Assault:ph34r:

But why would you?

I've just found this video uploaded by More Than Dice which shows a brief playthrough along with some interesting discussion of rules:

Apparently, if speeder bikes cannot complete their compulsory move for any reason ( I'm guessing this includes moving off the edge of the battlefield) they receive 3 damage which is enough to destroy one bike. It sounded like this was a general rule which applied to any unit which could not complete its compulsory move.

The video cuts out when the demonstrator is explaining about suppression, but he seems to suggest that when a unit's number of suppression tokens is equal to or greater than the yellow number on the deployment card (per number of figures currently in the unit), that unit can only perform one action until they are removed. It seems that a suppression token is still placed even if a unit suffers no wounds from an attack.

Also, if a unit carries out a rest action then it removes all suppression tokens it currently has.

This was probably already known, but if a rocket launcher is fired then it can only be fired again once that unit has performed a rest action. It also cannot be used if the unit has already moved during that activation.

Something else mentioned was that they were using 'Hostile Environment' as part of the setup for this game, which means units only remove 1 suppression token at the end of each round if their unit leader is in base contact with cover. Normally, 1 suppression token is removed from each unit at the end of each round no matter what.

According to the rulebook you can attack with half your squad and then again with the other half. Does this mean you could burn people’s dodge tokens by attacking them once and then again?

Are you referring to the "Declare an additional defender" step? I would expect that an additional defender would have to be a separate unit from your first attack.

I doubt it, what it will mean is split fire for heavy weapons though which is pretty neat
