My question, to those who have played FFG SW, is: Does a Critical Injury result from a Triumph give everyone in the Blast Area a Critical Injury? If so, Blast just became really nasty.
Critical Injuries and Blast
I believe the critical injury would be on the original target, per the rule where you can only crit once per successful hit. That is provided the rule hasn't changed since star wars. I won't have my book til the 19th.
If the original target is a minion or minion group, a triumph automatically defeats one minion since minions are defeated instead of suffering critical injuries.
Ah, ok. Thanks, Groggy. Things were about to get really, really nasty!
Which brings up a second question: Would the 4 base damage from casting the spell through a Staff add to the Blast damage?
No, not the Blast. It adds to the base damage of the attack.
Argh! That makes the Blast fairly weak then as its damage is the Knowledge skill (which is maxed at 2 for a starting character) + # of successes. Most weapons that cause Blast (from looking through the book) have a base blast damage of at least 4 + successes. There are a couple 6 and 8 damage + successes.
It shouldn't be great starting out. Skill 2, turns in Skill 5 in like 3 or 4 sessions if a PC focuses on raising it. It's fine how it is.
There will be Talents in future books that will increase it I'm sure.

Great! Thanks for pointing out the skill increases.
I admit that I've played FFG SW EotE 10 times and each time it was a Con Game so never experienced the advancement of characters.
