You can solo two-handed, use user-created Imperial player AI, or play the Flight of the Freedom Fighter in the IA Companion App Legends of the Alliance:

I tried solo on the app last night with four heroes. It wasn't too bad at all, but I'd imagine it'd be a little harder to manage as the heroes get more abilities and gear.
