In a few hours myself and a friend will be hosting our first store championship for Runewars at meeple mayhem.

Given that a tournament of this size is only for 2 rounds we decided to have an extra round at the start that did not count towards the scores, my matches were as follows

Warm Up Round vs Mike's Daqan - Break Their Defences on Battle Lines
This was only Mike's second ever game and first with terrain so he was still learning. It was a comfortable victory for me but I did find that the Crossbowmen hit very hard. He split his spearstar and knights on once side of the board and then his crossbowmen and Kari on the other. A mis-judged charge by the Oathsworn saw them pick up significant blight on the way in which the lancers used to bring them down quickly. The spearstar managed to delete the one knight unit but then got flanked by the lancers and took repeated shots from the one unit of archers. All of this was whilst the other archers and knights with the gauntlet destroyed the crossbowmen and attempted to catch kari finally getting her on turn 8.

Round 1 Vs Paul's Latari - Bounty on Hammer and Anvil - 119 to 114 - 6 tournament points
This was one of the closest games I have played and was great fun. Paul baited me with his riders during deployment and ended up with his whole force on my left flank with my lancers, knights with the gauntlet and one archer unit way out on my right flank. My knights managed to get in behind his archers and caused havoc but his Leonx did the same to one of my archer units. Aliana (his bounty unit) was brought down to one health but managed to slip away whilst my own unit (the archers on the right flank) was largely untouched

Round 2 Vs Brian's Waiqar - Supply Raid on Cautious Approach - 161 to 84 - 8 tournament points
The terrain in this game really limited the approach and as a result much more of both lists were alive at the end of the game. On the right flank we swapped the knights unit with the gauntlet for Maro and on the left my archers and knights managed to kill several of his knights and his archers taking very little damage in return.

All in all a very successful day for the undying.
