There's a tournament tomorrow, and I'm trying to both refine these two lists, and decide which one to bring:
Asajj Ventress (42)
Lancer-class Persuit Craft (37), Push the Limit (3), Gonk (2)
Fenn Rau (36)
Protectorate Starfighter (28), Lone Wolf (2), Plasma Torpedoes (3), Concord Dawn Protector (1), Autothrusters (2)
Unkar Plutt (22)
Quadjumper (17), Intelligence Agent (1), Cloaking Device (2), Spacetug Tractor Array (2)
I haven't really seen many Fenn builds with Torps, and I'm curious if it's a waste of points? Giving Fenn some early game damage output before he closes does sound pretty nice though... Alternatively, I could drop the torps, and change the quad to a build I've been meaning to try: Sarco Plank w/ stay on target, pattern analyzer, intel agent, and spaceug tractor array. I dunno if it's worth the points, but once you get in the fray (which sarco's ability helps with), you can go anywhere!
And then there's the /ahem/ "Ventilated Stress Factory":
Asajj Ventress (43)
Lancer-class Persuit Craft (37), Push the Limit (3), Latts Razzi (2), Black Market Slicer Tools (1)
Trandoshab Slaver (39)
YV-666 (29), Dengar (3), Tactician (2), Gunner (5)
Jakku Gunrunner (18)
Quadjumper (15), Intelligence Agent (1), Spacetug Tractor Array (2)
I'm also toying with putting Gonk on Asajj in this list too (or another Tactician). I don't know if it would play out on the table, but I like the idea that Gonk or Latts on Asaaj might push the opponent to try and take out the Slaver first, avoiding the YV's too-frequent fate as the doomed last ship on the board.
How do people feel about Gonk on Asajj in general? Is this is a foolish idea? It seems that Asajj would be pretty good at outrunning enemy ships to regen (and she can get back up past half points as long as she has 3 hull left), plus he's not situational in the same way as Latts. On the other hand, that is a lot of actions (and on the third hand, he is quite the cutey!) .
I know some of these choices are a bit of a deviation from the standard builds (no PTL on Fenn for example), but I'm hoping a slightly off-kilter list might still be viable? Perhaps not? I'm coming off a streak of desperately trying to force Zuckuss to be somewhat competitive (also alongside a shadowcaster and tug boat), without much luck, but I would still like to find a list that feels like it has a bit of character (which is part of the reason I'm so intent on playing with the quadjumper :vP)!
Any and all thoughts and advice is appreciated!
