Fun with Quadjumpers

Just some fun configurations for the Quadjumper.

Pocket Bomber
Jakku Gunrunner: 15
Cad Bane: 2
Bomblet Generator: 3
Total: 20 points

Planking
Sarco Plank: 18 (or Constable Zuvio: 19)
Fearlessness: 1
K-4 Security Driod: 3
Threat Tracker: 3
Total: 25 points (26)

Put an illicit cloak and/maybe a stygium particle accelerator for an extra 4 points. Cloaking Bombers are always fun, and Planking may not win any tournaments, but I bet he would be fun to fly. Any more you can think of?

What I want to try, although I fear it is too expensive and will be blown up before it can pull its weight :

Constable zuvio with cad bane and bomblet generator, pattern analyzer, spacetug tractor array, and veteran instincts. 29pts

I've been wanting to try Sarco with Stay on Target, Intel Agent, Pattern Analyzer, spacetug tractor array, and cloaking device. Probably too pricey, but, as Dr. Seuss would say, think of all the places you'll go!

There's always this option. It won't win regionals, but it is the very embodiment of jank.

Cloak, then swap it for a Scavenger Crane, and the cloak token stays per FAQ. Get up in their business with spacetug tractors and (potentially) infinite bombs. Combine with Captain Jostero for extra shenanigans!

My fav is

Jakku gun runner with tug array, cloak, and vizago. Trade cloak for emp on the first turn and you have a disruptive beast for 19 pts.

Ideally you take focus for the first round when he'll be shot. Then get in there, tractor, and hopefully live long enough to emp. Should allow the other 81 pts to wreck.

Edit: almost forgot you can decloak to be in surprising places once as well.

I've been disappointed with Zuvio so many times.

BUT that was before cad and stuff. I think I will have to take another look at him. IMO two things. One lose the tractor array on zuvio as I don't think its worth it compared to generic tugs, who like it.

Also, probably need someone on the team that can't be ignored. Perhaps low budget, Fearlessness Fenn flying straight into their face. Should buy Zuvio loads of time to get in just right. Rest of the squad probably flavored to taste.

I was already wondering if the array would be to much. The pattern analyzer could then be downgraded to printed thrusters maybe, since the action for the array is not needed any more.

What do you think about the EPT? VI useful / necessary - other thoughts?

Yesterday I had time to try out the following zuvio two times

Constable Zuvio — Quadjumper 19
Trick Shot 0
Cad Bane 2
Bomblet Generator 3
Pattern Analyzer 2

Ship Total: 26

First game was really nice, I got to deliver four bomblets, two of them while doing a reverse maneuver. Cad really helps with the damage, there are results between one hit and hit+critical. One could argue that this was the ideal match since I flew against large base ships.

Second game he got blown up by whisper in a single volley before delivering any cargo, so there's that...

I liked it, but I think it is to early to conclude on anything. I will give it some further tries to understand how to approach with zuvio.

That's an interesting concept.

For that matter, K4/Threat Tracker/Experimental Interface/Spacetug Tractor Array could be good for a laugh:

  • Perform a green move
  • Pick up a free target lock
  • When target ship becomes active, activate threat tracker and spend your target lock to barrel roll into range 1 of it
  • Activate experimental interface to perform a free action
  • Activate spacetug tractor array to tractor the newly- activated ship, forcing it to barrel roll or boost out of arc of anyone.
  • Repeat until your opponent has a rage-induced aneurism

Has hilarious as that would be, EI and Space tug are both mods and can't both be equipped...

A Jakku Gunrunner with Maul can, in theory, go backwards forever as long as it can shoot.
