More like infuriating... Stupid GPDR I guess...

What data...their names....well it is all on the pairings sheets...

Which probably means placing those online is a violation

Yeah I dint understand the technical jargon, but essentially people can be tracked to a location if the results are published.

Just to clarify that we were unable to post final standings due to data protection essentially.

That feels like a misinterpretation of data protection rules on their part, but fine.

What about block out the surnames (or all but the first letter of them if there are duplicate first names)?

@Captain Weather - you are a legend. Great article, with lots of intel!

A great number of Bothans....ah, you know the rest....

Great job!

Guess us Poles took you Aussies by surprise? Well, know that Piotr also made the top64 cut for X-wing championships, but opted to dropped out of it in favour of playing Armada ;)

So yeah, go ahead and try to nerf us ;)

I guess I need a definition of "proper" Rieekan.

Clearly one which doesn’t lose to other things

Well this feels less funny after @Ginkapo lost to Rieekan in the semi final. Though having watched the game, Piotr didn’t win because of Rieekan, he won because of how he played the game. I suspect he could have done exactly the same with dodonna and still won that game.

it also ended up coming down to one error by Gink, missing an opportunity to use avenger which would have killed a flotilla, which in turn then would have not been in the way to get rammed to death which in turn would have meant Gink would have got his ISD clear of a dust cloud for a shot on the pelta which would have in turn turned the game. But that is the butterfly effect of Armada.

As I said, it's meant with no disrespect, I've found that because the FFG forums and Reddit are predominately English speaking a lot of Europe tends to slip through the cracks. I know the Germans have their own forum for example. I KNOW YOU'RE GOOD PLAYERS, I JUST CAN'T GET INTEL ON Y'ALL.

No worries, I'm not offended :). Considering this was my first Armada tournament outside Poland, I'd be genuinely surprised if you had any info on me at all. I also had quite a bit of luck to have made the cut in the first place, let alone win the entire thing.

And yeah, we totally need a nerf ;).

Bummer Reikan won again, but super cool seeing Thrawn get into the semis!

I'm not saying you meant or caused any ;) If anything, you Sir have just created a running meme on Polish X-wing and Armada groups (there was even a suggestion to put "somebody nerf Poland please" on our t-shirts for European Team Championships ;)

As for sparse intel on our meta - yup, it can be hard to get, but hopefully with more events outside the UK other metas will get to shine as well :)

In any case, whenever it will take place, we gladly invite anyone to Poland next year :D

First go at the Euros, wanted a no pressure list to see what it's all about so went with:

Ha, Vic havoc
Author: Phil B

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 390/400

Commander: Moff Jerjerrod

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Capture the VIP
Navigation Objective: Solar Corona

[ flagship ] Raider I-Class Corvette (44 points)
- Moff Jerjerrod ( 23 points)
= 67 total ship cost

Victory II-Class Star Destroyer (85 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Disposable Capacitors ( 3 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 105 total ship cost

Victory II-Class Star Destroyer (85 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Disposable Capacitors ( 3 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 105 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 25 total ship cost

4 VT-49 Decimators ( 88 points)
= 88 total squadron cost

Easy play fun list, with not the greatest chance if winning I admit, but winning a couple of games was my initial aim.

Had a great time against some great opponents, unsurprisingly lost the first 3 games :

9-2 v a Rieeken/Yavaris list, I killed Bright Hope and Ten Num, but lost both Vics and all of the Decimators.

7-4 against an MC80, Peltor B-wing bomber swarm that used FCT’s on both the big ships to great effect, I killed the Peltor, but lost both Vics and a Deci.

Beer leg No 1, 8-3. v a Double ISD, single Gozanti, Ciena Ree and a Lambda, killed the Lambda and lost both Vics and a Decimator, but had a really fun game.

Then won a brilliant game, more of a beer leg No 2, 6-5 against an ISD, 2 Glads and a Raider no sqn list, killing both Glads and the Raider, but losing both Vics, (a bit of a pattern forming here, LOL).

My last opponent got scared of the Vic power and didn't show for an easy 10-1.

25 points, 46th place and a great weekend, learned a lot and had a blast, many thanks to all concerned, the judges did a heck of a job the players kept it fun. Definitely looking to go to Poland next year, but this time with a hopefully competitive list.

Because the word he ll seems to be blocked

Soooo, it was the expected great time, late night mistakes included.

As for plain results, I played 2 Dutch, 1 French, 1 German and 1 Spanish...truly European, and won 3/5. That is fine, but doesnt get you anywhere if you dont win big consistently.

Thx for the games, thx for reconnecting (Garro, Gink, DrAlex, Kendraam, Italians), thx for the great gift Julien and also the StratAd cards from the far North!

Thx to the TOs for running this event, and hope to join next year in Poland!

What a great event, big Armada tournaments are always awesome.

Totally mixed feelings on how I got on at the weekend. Missing out on the cut by 9 MoV was gutting, especially after I failed to farm the Contested Outpost for the last 2 turns of my fifth game. My own **** fault, lesson learned there! But 5th place feels pretty respectable, and I also want to congratulate one of my fellow Tartan Tuskens in particular, Tom, who once again got stuck just behind me in the rankings at 6th. We need to stop meeting like this!

After so many months of theory-crafting and practice games focused around Raddus and Rieekan it was a bit unexpected to have Imperial matchups all five games. No complaints there though, those were fun (and often very tense) games against great opponents.

For those who are into that type of thing ( @Captain Weather ) I've got my list available at http://armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/view_list.php?token=163525

I've also got a load of photos from the event on Twitter, I've gathered them into a single Moment at https://twitter.com/i/moments/1003682204403339264

And to mirror what's been said before, a massive thank you to the judges/TOs. We're lucky to have a bunch of really knowledgeable officials who are genuinely interested in the game and always seem as excited to be there as us players! And I know we try not to give them too much work to do ;)

Glad they proved so popular, and it's exciting to know that our Tartan Tuskens alt arts are now being used all across Europe. Should be lining up something else for Nationals in August, though I don't quite know what yet.

Hi everyone.

I've been lurking arround for a while, but after the Euros, I felt the need to share my experiencies. And boy, what a weekend!

I was the only Spanish player in the tournament, so I guess that's quite an achievement. All of my opponents were very friendly, and all of my matches were intense and very tied, despite of the results. It was a bit dissappointing to end 37th and to fail getting top 32, but overall I'm proud of my list and my playing (with some mistakes I would amend in future matches).

It was an awsome experience, and I hope I can see you guys next year in Poland.

@Akhrin, shame on you and your coward Defiance, but thanks for that awsome Strategic Advisor :)

Cowardly Defiance almost didn't make it, that last dice roll had me really scared! I know the odds were in my favour, but I kept waiting for that double hit to come up.

Thanks to all for great atmosphere and smooth playing!
My performance was a complete disaster but I was happy to play top players as Tokra or Alex, have some beer with oponents and take part in that great event;
Who knows, maby at the next event (located in Poland) I will be judging? that would be an honor but I will not be playing so that is dillema.

Thanks again and see You in Poland next Year!

I think you were 2. Only one went from Spain though. Not counting our organisation insider.
