Space Station, asteroids and debris

By Lemmiwinks86, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi all.
I saw some awesome pictures on the internet of 3D asteroids, debris and space stations that have the base size to be put over the corresponding tokens but can't find them on ebay, shapeways or other few sites I know.
Does someone know where can I get them?
Thanks

If it's the ones who did xwing as well then The mouse said stop...

OK, we must do the mouse's bidding

so, why is my question. i get that they look cool but they're actually less useful than the ones that came with the game. I could understand getting some that are made out of the mousepad material just to have a nicer/more durable set but I just don't get the "rule of cool" of 3d terrain.

People do seem to be of two minds on this. There are those who like the cool 3D terrain, and those who don't. I love the 3D terrain, and I have a set of the contraband obstacles in my car in case I come across another person who also likes them. Thus far, my guesstimate is that the pro-3D population is about 33%.

If you find anyone offering Spacerocks products after all this time, and choose to not buy everything, let me know. ;) I ’m still bummed I started the game too late for them. :(

I regret not purchasing the set when they were still being sold for sure. I wanted to get a set for xmas but by then they were shut down. Been scouring e-bay but no luck.

I think it's similar to the other topic going strong right now about customizing your fleet by naming ships. Those people want a more thematic experience that tells a story and i think the other side is more interested in the mechanics of the game. I absolutely fall into the latter category, i want a smooth game with well defined rules(i know, "lol ffg") that I can avoid as much drama as possible during the game.

I do really understand wanting the stuff to look good, but I like the practical aspect of the game more. As soon as we get 3d holo games like the one being played on the falcon I'll jump on it but for now I'd like ease of use :)

Normally I’d agree with you on immersion vs. quality of gameplay, but this one feels a little different to me. Really, the obstacles are like the ships; a theoretically 3D thing that’s really 2D. In both cases the model only exists for immersion, and is removed when it affects gameplay. I can’t for the life of me find any reason why FFG wouldn’t do the same thing for obstacles, aside from cost; one could still play a perfectly tactical game with the flat ones, which are always required anyway, just like one could play with just the ship bases.

when i bump a ship I move my own ship back, when i bump an obstacle I'm placed over it :P

When your destroyer’s nose hits a Mon Cal nose (not a “bump” gameplay wise), you remove a model. When you overlap an obstacle, you remove a model. ;)

Ugh trying to fly ISD's in formation.

I cut peices of cardboard to match base sizes and for setup and teardown ease i often use those if i am just playing myself for practice.
